Personally I like the new lines more and wouldn't mind them to change (besides the pony PPS), but on the other hand I'd miss them as an important part of CS history.

Although, I think it's most important not to get in trouble with law because of art theft.
It actually would be a crime to use them further without the permission of the photographers, do we actally have to get used to the lineart change.

Could well still have the old ones at the same time as the new ones

Xiao_Jian wrote:Well, I spent some time reading the thread, and saw the lines compared to the pictures. Because of that, I changed my vote to a "yes." The change to the new lineart will be good for CS, and help promote it as a site for unique pets that maintains a high standard for artist integrity and against art theft. I will miss the PPS lineart though...

Am wondering though, if rarer horses/ponies, like the Rainbowmane could get a unique, new lineart, just to help them maintain their "specialness."

I would certainly not be against that. It seems many people are concerned over retaining the 'specialness' or 'uniqueness' of some pets, like the buckskin PPS or the Rainbowmane. Perhaps giving them their own lineart would offset this upsetness and make them even more unique, as a sort of consolation prize.

I realize that this is already quite of a bit of work for the artists as is. I'm legitimately disappointed I can't help; as an artist I don't envy that sort of workload.

No, no, no... please don't! Part of the charm of the old horses is that they look different and are from the old line arts. I'm quite passionate about this as I love all my old horses, using a different line art is like getting a different horse when I'm attached to the ones I have already. Yes it was copied, no that's not good, and the logical part of me says it should be changed because of that, however I just can't get over the horses not being the same in my eyes. They drafts look good and I'm fine with the changes to them however not with the other horses, why?

Because the new and the old line arts look to be different breeds. It's kind of like having my Shih Tzu switched out for a Chihuahua, even if they are the same color they are still worlds apart. Another example would be my friends Rottweiler changed out for a German Shepherd It'd just be different...

As a horse collector, I love all the various linearts....like the real horse world, there's many shapes and sizes. I'll love them either way, but I still support the old look. :3

No, the zebras are separate because they're a separate species. :3 The same goes for the donkeys and unicorns, which will be getting their own lines. If/when the zebras get updated it would most likely be to species-specific lines, not the pony lines, and Tess has said any potential change with them would be presented for voting in a separate poll, not this one.

Well, technically all the zebras are are lineart edited ponies...
The donkeys and unicorns are different linearts, but the zebras aren't.

I guess the new ponies could be edited to look like a zebra too, but hey a new seperate zebra lineart would be neat =P

Link to comparison images.

This. Its less about how they look, and more aboit the fact that they're traced- having traced lineart leaves a bad taste in the mouth of ANY artist.

I completely agree with this!

I personaly like all the old ponys and their lines. To me it just shows that CS has come a long way in a short period of time and they look amazing the way they are. Im sorry, but I personally dont support the change. And it doesnt matter to me that they were traced! They still look nice
