No, they're not changing anything yet. Nothing's final.

It does seem like an okay idea...

But me and a few of my friends were working on collecting all the horses with the other lineart because they were older, and different and cool. I've just recently got more horses with the older lineart, and I love how they look! I like the current lineart too, but I think that the old lineart is fun to collect, and gives them more value in a way, because there aren't pets being made with that lineart anymore.

There will be no changes to rarity or date-they'll just code the revamped pictures in.

The more I look at them, the more pros I see in the Yul linearts as opposed to equi's. I like equi's, don't get me wrong, but what I like most about them are the designs, not the lines. I just like the current lines more.

And as for the people saying equi's horses don't ''deserve'' to be switch over, they don't deserve anything because they are pixels on your computer screen and are incapable of deserving anything.

I like the draft change, but otherwise, no. I love the colors in the new linearts, but the old ones have always been my favorite. They stand out because they're different. I love having the old ones, and I most especially wouldn't want to lose them forever. Again, how they look in the new form is amazing, but I don't think I could ever be happy about losing the way the old ones look. They're too unique and amazing. Losing them would be like losing a species altogether.

I have a question for Tess.
Is the Roadkill PPS the only one that won't be updated? If not, what other ones won't?

Another question for Tess:
Will the 2009 Halloween Pony costume be updated, too, as well as other pony costumes?
Because I have many ponies I cannot fit the Pony Costumes on.

Personally, this seems like an absolutey ridiculous, not to mention pointless change.

In the time it would take for artists to colour in the several hundred pets, they could easily create a few extra item linearts. It just seems like a complete waste of resources; if nothing else is going to change about the pets, why would you bother recreating them?

Also, these pets potentially provide older players with nostalgic feelings of the early years of ChickenSmoothie. Whilst I may not personally have this feeling, several of my friends do, and it saddens them to see the vast majority of a new population of players deciding on this, rather than having the oldies 'battle it out', so to speak.

I've thought all day about what to say about this, and I've come to my own conclusion. I, like many others, like dressing up my pets, and I get frustrated with the fact that most items are fitted to the new lineart - which is perfectly alright, after all, the Equi horses are becoming a smaller and smaller percentage on the site, what with more new users adopting the currently unlimited supply of Yulynh lineart horses [I don't see them going in the near future]. As such, I can't expect the artists to keep including the Equi lineart in the item version to-do list, that's just unfair for them.

I know some people will miss the old lineart, but that's going to be the typical response. We don't know what we like until it's about to be "taken away", even if we've spent years covering them up or hiding them away. There's going to be a few outcomes that we like that might look strange for a few months, but after that, you're going to get used to it. And if you're afraid of letting go, save the pictures. Keep them on your computer and reminisce - maybe have a thread where all of the old Equi line horses are displayed, or something, just so that it'll be there when people want to look back [I know I've wished for one of those with the Malk owls and cats, it would have helped satiate my need to remember previous versions of things].

I look forward to the change. I can't wait to dress up my Camo horse and Unicorn hoards with the newer items, and I'll finally get to dress up my Rainbow Mane the way I want to. I would love to see all of the horses that I love, looking nice and uniform [more or less; I'm quite alright with the few stragglers, such as the Roadkill PPS and Zebras being oddballs]. I adore the new Draft lines [after the few minor edits mentioned earlier in this thread about the head and barrel being a little short], and I might get back into hoarding them, if we end up switching.

I don't think we would be losing part of CS's history, or Equi's name; Equi's name will still be on her designs, and she's in the retired part of the team page. We would still have her zebras and foal lines [Roadkill PPS], and her name will be on her designs. And if someone wishes to do the "Old Lineart Gallery" thread or whatever it would be - then do it! It sounds like it'd be greatly appreciated by the CS community as a whole. <3 Then, no matter what, people can look back at the progress and admire what we had before. As a member who joined just in time to see Equi's first litter on the site... I know it'd help me.

I voted yes not out of dislike for Equi or any of her designs - she was a very nice person, in the few interactions I had with her, and I usually don't have issues with designs unless they really hurt my eyes - but because I think change is good, no matter the complaints along the way. In the end, it'll make life easier for the artists and the users who dress up their pets, even though the market will be in turmoil for a while [which is a funny thing; it's just a lineart change, it's not a rarity or design change. It should not affect the value so much that it turns the entire CS economy on its head for any long period of time], but it will, in time, even out.

/This is a long ramble-y post. I apologize; I'm quite tired at the moment.
