I don't see why people don't like this idea. Its not like their deleting all the old ones, there's still a few around. I think it would be neat to see the old designs in this lineart. c:

NO!! I like the differances between the older horses and the newer ones. It really helps when figuring out the ages of the pets.

PLUS, I like seeing the progression of the line art :)

Yes, you are correct that this is one of the main reasons for this change. Artists can't just code the items differently, they have to re-draw the item for each pet they code them for. It would make things much easier for artists to have one line-art per pet, as opposed to having 3 to apply those items to.

I'm sorry, but you say it would be easier to have one line-art per pet, yet there are two dog line-arts (three if you count the wolves as dogs), three cat line-arts, and three other horse line-arts that aren't getting changed. So there would still be four different horse line-arts... Which means that doesn't make much sense. The items are almost never drawn to fit all of the pets. If the artists don't want to draw the horse items to fit the old line-arts, then they don't do it. Just like they don't make them fit the Nick horse line-arts, or the Tess horse line-arts, or the Malk horse line-arts.

Like I said, one of the reasons, certainly not the only reason. :) It just seems like that's one of the perks to consolidating them. Besides, this is the reaction to one of the less-popular adoptables? Imagine the uproar if they tried to return the dogs to one lineart!

I joined CS back in 2009 because of the horses and bunnies. I LOVE the foals more than Yulynhs new lineart:

But, generally, I quite like the idea. So, yes please.
I don't want to dress up my horses because most items don't fit either lineart *sigh*

And I don't say that, because I don't like equimagines lines, her art in general back then (RBM was my Dreamie for years) and I don't think it is disrespectful. I just think it'd be neat to not have 49543 different linearts.

I'm pretty sure that they meant one item line art per pet. As in one set of saddles/other items for horses, one set for ponies, etc. Instead of items for both Yulyhn and Equi horses/ponies.

I think the difference is that there are many pets in the Equimage horse linearts, whereas there are very few in the other three linearts you mentioned. It's like making item versions for PPS dogs, but not for any of the edited staff dogs or the fluffly dog lineart (used for a couple special litters I beleive, including CNY 2012). There's just not enough designs in those lineart versions to worry about it. It's not the best analogy but I think you can see what I mean.
