Also! Mainly out of curiosity, but is this how the artists of CS design pets, in regards to been given a colour palette and needing to make a design from such, or is this just for the application process? I always assumed it was free reign with the occasional theme (the September staff litter as an example) thought it's cool nonetheless!

This is only for the application. CS artists have free reign to choose their own palettes. c:

Can transparency be something included in the design, like glass?

I read through the comments and it seems like some staff are expecting a litter to be created, and other just expect a wide array of designs. Could I get confirmation on which one is to be expected?

I'd recommend sticking with making a design without transparency and using one of the other upload spots to show how you create the transparency/glass look if that's something you want to showcase.

We just want to see what you can do with what's given, you only have 3 pets to colour in so doing different designs would give us more examples. Don't forget you do have extra spots to share other examples of your art with us as well. ^^

No, our linearts are PSD files so you would need to be able to open and edit a PSD file in order to become an artist. There are many tutorials that you can follow online if you are having trouble. Additionally, please ensure that you have reviewed the position requirements outlined on the application page.

aww, it’ll be sad to see you go, yugi. you’ve created some of our favourite pets on the site (we are hoarding quite a lot of pets that you’ve designed!), and we’ve always admired the way you manage to make the designs you create look so soft and visually appealing. good luck in your future endeavours, i do hope you continue creating such amazing art even though it will no longer be for this site.

Hello! I have one question, would re-doing the eyes be okay? It's proven a bit difficult to just color over what is already there. Thanks^^

You can recolor the eyes but they should not be redrawn.

as for the applications, we do have a similar question and would like to ask for clarification on this answer. does this mean we’re required to keep the shapes (defined by different colours) within the iris/pupil the same, or can we edit what’s in the iris/pupil as long as we don’t change the outer black lineart?

Yes, it also mentions this at the very bottom of the application page:
"(You can come back here after saving to make more edits to your application)"

The order doesn't matter, we will always look at everything.

I have a bit of an odd question. It is regarding the layers.
I see that the three pets from the application are on the same layer, could I divide them into 3 different sets of layers with their corresponding lineart, shading, etc.?
