The bird is to show if you have donated or not. Why would they be given out if you have not donated? Kinda defeats the purpose of the special 'thank you' if the animal is going to just be given out later.

Being a breeder of them, i can tell you there is absolutely no difference in temperament between a white face and a normal grey, there are many colours though, including pied, pearl and cinnamon, it is really just what you are after where it comes to what they look like, take one you think is prettiest.
That said, if you want a bird that talks, it is better off to get a male, dont be looking for a female if you want them to talk, also females tend to be a bit more nippy, not that it has ever bothered me.
If you do need any advice, you know by now where to find me anyhow *hugs*

Ok, a bit of informtaion for you that I found mysel when breeding my birds.

I found that the white face weeros (cockatiels) were alot more inquisitive then the common grey. The preffeed alot more time with me and alot more cuddles.

The grey weeros (cockatiels) were more quick tempered and got angry more easily. But, my grey cockatiels wer alot more easier to house train.

They are wonderfull birds, and I speak from experience. We have four at home in a large outdoor cage and they are the best behaved birds of the bunch ^-^ They're not afraid and love getting sprayed with water in the summer (with a plant spray of course) they can then hang upside down with their wings spread wide (like a bat ) to get refreshed from the water. Very funny to look at
We have two pale faced ones and two completly white ones with yellow cheecks (adorable huh) A fun thing for them to play with is some branches from trees (don't know which once are harmless from your area of the world) but make sure the leaves are still in place. The love gnawing on the branches and stripping them from all leaves before starting at the birch (?)

I've got a Regular grey cockatiel, His name is Chika. He's learnt so much. he's a year and four months old.
these are the things he says/does:
Hello
Pretty Boy
Peek a boo
wolfwhistles
whistles "pop goes the weasle"
Says Aaah boo
Whistles the tune to Ed, Edd and Eddy
moshes and screams "Boogie!!!"
he imitates the smoke alarm *unfortunately*
And Whistles the whole Darth Vader Theme.

My guinea pig runs up my shouler all the time...Anyways, she had a tumor removed and she got her stiches out, but she picked at the wound and it broke open and she was bleeding a lot...I just took her to the vet, and she's getting more stiches.

Anyways, my grandma has 2 birds. Dunno what kind, but I can hear them right now
