New adoptable feature - delete your pets or give them away

Is there any way to turn this off if you don't want people to send pets? Or, like a friends list feature where only people you know can send you pets?
I've been getting pets from people I don't know and that have never even posted on the forums.. Just because they can.

yeah that'd be a good feature because I get given a lot of pets too ._. I don't even collect the adoptables, I can have any of them I want so there's no joy in it...
