I second this! As a general suggestion, I think pets based off of classic foods for both holidays would be really cute (like latkes, gelt, or challah for Hanukkah, and okra, cornbread, jollof rice, or candied yams for Kwanzaa).

Third-ing! Also for Chanukkah, a detail that might be a little niche is colorful melted wax? When people use wax candles in their menorahs there is usually a buildup of colorful drippings by the end of the holiday. This is not a great pic but I think it shows what I mean:

Picture that but cleaner, more colorful, larger drops of melted wax. It would be a cute detail. Maybe on different species? Or one litter of the same species, like nine cats or something, one that is PPS and pure metal, and increasing wax buildup on each successive outcome.
And anything to do with olive oil. I love the full/empty oil jug dragons from FleshCanvas last year. I think more variations on that theme would be cool.
Thanks for reading!!

Apart from the obvious suggestions like food, I would suggest releasing animals that are associated with these holidays, though I can’t think of any apart from mice and panthers. The difficulty is figuring out what’s culturally appropriate, for now maybe I should advertise this thread since I only found it on accident. I did a quick google search which showed me that Kwanzaa has some similarities to Hanukkah, like the candle display and an emphasis on cultural and familial historical understanding.

As someone who's celebrated quite a few Hannukah I feel qualified to help with at least the Hannukah side of this.

ITEM:
Hannuka related: Hannukah is known for 1 days worth of oil lasting 8 nights so it be nice to see some oil based items
~~~Oil lamps stated on the last page or menorahs with oil pots.
oil cups fit onto menorah's , Another example but this time the oil cups built in
historical oil lamp
Jewish tho not exclusively Hannukah related:
~~~Yamaka / kippah - Male jewish head covering comes in all sorts of colors and styles
~~~shofar - Ceremonial and decretive horn
~~~Matzo as a whole plays a part in multiple jewish holidays like as afikomen for Passover (you hide it for others to find. Think easter egg hunt) .
~~~Matzo ball soup. As of now I think we only have 1 item for both matzo ball and matzo even if its incredibly classic Jewish food.
More challa items.
Text bubble for
~~~bubbie = Meaning grandmother. In various Jewish media and jokes about not messing with a bubbies kitchen.
~~~Oy vey - Yiddish phrase expressing dismay or exasperation
~~~Its kosher = while generally its about food being prepared a certain way now its more a term of its all good

PETS
~~~eastern dragon with flames along its back mentioned earlier and I agree
~~~Spiders wouldn't be bad either with the 8 arms to count for the 8 nights
~~~Challah snake as mentioned before would be fun.
~~~An egg stage pet as a dreidel
~~~Lions - lions are incredibly important in Jewish faith. The Lion of Judah is a Jewish symbol that represents the Tribe of Judah, the House of David. Think star of david ✡ It could go the pyroar pokemon rout with a flaming mane or could simply have wisps of the mane end in flames, candles down its back or a menorah held in its tail. or a simple blue and silver lion with a dreidle in its lifted paw. So many options.
~~~Deer - Deer are used in the torah multiple times to represent the human soul. With deer antlers it make for a good menorah holder. with new candles on the horns lighting each day.

Just tossing out a bunch of ideas. no idea if any will take. Ill be back with other ideas soon most probably.

For Hanukkah, I think it would be nice to get pets that are based on the menorah and maybe candles. An item that’s a speech bubble saying “Oy vey!” Would be nice

After 11 years of seeking, I finally obtained my all-time dream on October 1, 2020 ;w;

Since the origin of gelt becoming a chocolate coin for kids was it used to be adults pooling some coins to buy clothing or fabric to make clothing for poor students I figured why not some clothing.So maybe some PJs, shirts or word bubbles saying-
Happy Challa-days
OY to the world
I like you a latke
Meowel-tov /&/ Mazel Tov -A Jewish phrase expressing congratulations or wishing someone good luck and a cat pun for it

A menorasaurus / menorasaurus rex - dinosaur manorah

Mench on a bench (Jewish version of elf on a shelf)

Lion plushie,

Dreidel plushie

Various stages of sunset background or windows with various stages of sunset since that's what signals us lighting the menorah candles.

Torah scroll
sephardi - Cases that allow you to read the torah while it stays protected. and it opened

Seder plate - While its more for Passover as there's no Passover event it be nice to get this item eventually either for Hannukah or randomly in april.

I will agree we need Challah guinea pigs...or maybe a whole pastry litter for them (not a pastry but I think a latke guinea pig would be adorable)

As for Kwanzaa, I would love to see an African style drum set or decorative bowls/rugs.

A pet litter that embodies the Seven Principels of Kwanzaa would also be great.

Umoja (unity)
Kujichagulia (self-determination)
Ujima (collective work and responsibility)
Ujamaa (cooperative economics)
Nia (purpose)
Kuumba (creativity)
Imani (faith)

Each one has a symbol and colors associated with it, which I feel would transfer well to pets (maybe Lions)
