Paeon, the Protector

A gentle soul, Paeon founded the unnamed clan by simply managing to draw in, like a magnet, various outcasts and rejects from all across Sornieth. Paeon himself was rejected from his birth clan for reasons he will not disclose. It has become a sort of guessing game around the other dragons, some going as far as to suggest he was involved in....shifty business. Nevertheless, everyone respects and loves the caring Fae, who is cheerful and ready to help anyone who might need it.

Most of all, he is terribly attached to Cryptomeria. They have lived together, for a short time, as nomads, travelling across Sornieth until they settled down in the peaceful realm of the Arcanist, under His watchful eyes. Close in age and in heart, their friendship is one for the books, tied by things unknown to many.

Paeon's main occupation is gardening, which is how he acquired his familiar, a hedgehog who kept pestering his rose bushes.

Cryptomeria - The Spirit of A Mother

Cryptomeria has never dreamt of being a mother - she had higher hopes, hopes of travel and dreams of an endless realm that she could explore and enjoy. Those dreams were cut short when she was set up in an arranged marriage by her overbearing parents-after all, she was the clan's hope to reconciliate with their long time nemesi. Cryptomeria became a shadow of her former self. Her marriage was loveless, her children all sent off to serve the High Lords of various clans - and then something unknown happened. Cryptomeria is rumoured to have encountered someone...or something that gave her enough mindless courage to abandon everything in the middle of the night and fly across the land, carried by the wind until her wings could beat no more. It was during this time she met Paeon, another wandering traveller.

Together they managed to survive in the depths of Sornieth, forging an unlikely bond in spite of their many differences. They didnt intend to start a clan, much less to lead one, but Paeon had the talent of naturally drawning in a bunch of fellow runaways. Little by little, having reached the far off land of the Arcanist, Cryptomeria suggested to Paeon that they settle down.

So settle down they did. Cryptomeria is widely regarded as the clan mother - she happily raises all orphans and hatchlings found, helps other dragons wean their fledglings, and takes great pride in all the clan members - always there to offer advice and a warm hug, she is impossible not to love.

Her familiar, Cloe, is the only one who has never left Cryptomeria's side, and who knows her true story.
