Trading TipsWhile the only strict rule I have is that you're kind these are some tips that can increase the chance of me accepting a trade.
Communicate! It's way easier for me to create a trade that works for both of us if I know what you want and how you determine a pet/items value. So please use the trade message if you can to let me know what you're looking for, why you've made the offer you have, and if there are any guidelines you'd like me to keep in mind. I'll extend the same courtesy to you.
Know the value of what you're offering onI am patient with players that are new and/or still figuring stuff out, I get that trading is confusing and I'm happy to work with you to create a fair trade. But I really appreciate it when folks, who are able to, do their research before making an offer.
This is especially true for items as I have a number of
retired store items which, like store pets, are worth much more than their non-retired counterparts. Please make sure you know what you're offering on, and if you don't that's ok. Just don't guilt trip me if I tell you the offer is unfair.
Be Patient, but don't be afraid to give a gentle nudgeTypically I'll respond to trades right away but if it's a bulk trade or one involving extremely valuable pets or items it may take longer. If it takes more than a week please don't be afraid to DM me in case I've missed or forgotten about it. But if it's just been a day or two I'm likely either researching values or waiting until I have the mental energy to do the math needed to determine whether it's fair.
Be open to editsIf a trade isn't fair I'd much rather edit it than cancel, I see trading as a collaboration between two people with the goal of both walking away satisfied. I understand you may not have the time or energy to haggle, but if you do then please be open to working with me.
Offer on item doublesI prefer to only trade items I have 2 or more of. I may make exceptions for some, especially if offered overpay, so it doesn't hurt to ask! But offers on items I have more than one of are more likely to be accepted.
Offer True DatesI do accept re-releases so feel free to offer them, however I prefer true dates and will prioritize them over RRs when offered.
When trading off WL offer pets that are highly tradableI don't require WL trades but keep in mind that any non-WL stuff you offer only has value as trade fodder. I don't want pets that will sit unwanted in my trade groups for years, I want things that are on my wishlist or things I can easily trade for stuff on my wishlist. If you don't have wishlist pets to offer then offer high demand pets instead. Even if an offer is technically fair, if it's exclusively made up of non-WL pets or items that I can't easily trade away then I'm not likely to accept it. Things like dragons and lions are always easily tradable, as are pets with unique lineart, older pets, and pets from events.
Trading ResourcesThese are guides that I find helpful, I highly recommend looking through these to determine the value of a pet or item before making an offer on it.
