Please note:
I use a form of rarity math for pets only!
TLDRR; trade fair, years MATTER not just it's rarity. Whether it's event or not is a factor too! Popularity... not so much. Also, Store Pets are VR of their year and Malk/Nick Pets within the 2 yr range are not unequal in value if they have the same rarity.
The math I use for pets within the same year or only one year difference is a 1:1 and 1:2 ratio. With years coming in pairs.
Example
2018 Uncommon = 2019 Uncommon = 2 2020 Uncommon = 4 2022 Uncommon
OR
2019 Uncommon = 4 2020 Common = 4 2021 Common = 6 2022 Common
Or if you really have a lot of these...
2019 Uncommon = 8 2020 Very Common = 16 2021 Common = 24 2022 Common
OMGSC is also twice the above numbers.
The 1:1 ratio is when there are pets of the same/previous/following year, where it's an Uncommon for an Uncommon, etc.
The 1:2 ratio also works for offering different rarities. As follows:
2 Very Rare = OMG So Rare
2 Rare = Very Rare
2 Uncommon = Rare
2 Common = Uncommon
2 Very Common = Common
2 OMGSC = Very Common
The one exception to the math rule I use is Event Pets which includes:
Summer Event/Easter/Christmas/Halloween/Valentine's Day/Saint Patrick's Day/Hanukkah/Kwanza/ other random event
For these pets, I add a single upgrade on rarity.
example: a Halloween pet from 2018 with a rarity of Uncommon is bumped up to be counted as a Rare 2018 and a Rare 2018 counts as a Very Rare.
Shop Pets - While I would like to own a few, I'm not really DYING to own them as they aren't part of the official list per say (otherwise I'd have paid for them myself). So while I might consider an offer of one, don't expect me to fork over 20+ Rare pets just because it's shop pet on my WL from 2017. It's just not going to happen, sorry. I tend to treat Shop Pets like a OMGSR.
Meaning that it's worth 2 VR or 4 Rares within the 1 year radius of said pet.
Example:
Shop Pet 2021 = 2 VR 2021 = 4 Rare 2021 = 2 Event Rare 2021 = 4 Event Uncommon 2021 = 6 Event Common 2021
