A warm, sweet summer wind whispers through the grasses of the open meadows as you hike through them along a cobble stone path that is hardly wide enough for a cart. This little road has taken you over the ridge that borders the main entrance to the Abel Stables land. Owned by Nimue, one of the Isles master horse breeders and an early human settler of the Isles. Well, at least they say she's human.
You continue down the cobblestone path, pausing where it splits. One direction lead down a small hill too the two massive L-shaped barns and the other lead up the hill to a medium sized house. Straight ahead id the Archange Tree, considered to be the Isles oldest standing tree and you can see why. The massive oak-like tree stretches hundreds of feet towards the blue sky, it's branches shadowing both the house and the stables as the spread out from it's massive trunk. The things it must have seen...
"Hello!" Calls a voice, waking you from your thoughts. You look down the path to the stable and see a woman approaching on the back of a stunning long legged palomino stallion with sky blue markings. He bears no tack or bridle but he and the woman perched upon his back seem in perfect agreement of where they're going. "It's always nice to get visitors up this way. I assume you want to see my stables?" The woman says, swinging off the stallion's back and walking towards you. You decide this must be Nimue. Her hair is dark and shoulder length and her skin light but with the soft touch of bronze pink gotten from hours spent in the sun and wind. She smiles right up to her stormy green-gray eyes. "Welcome then, if you haven't guessed already I'm Nimue, feel free to wander my lands here and meet my horses. But watch out, for they're are some strange stories about some of the places here." She grin even wider now and you thank her for her warning and her welcome. But all the while you think that most of the strange stories are related to Nimue and not the lands them selves but you let that go and she adds. "If you need me ask one of the horses, likely they can point you in the right direction." And with that she mounts the stallion once more and the turn as one and head for the distant forests at a gallop. Leaving you with the warm wind whispering sweet words in your ears and the grasses in the meadows bellow dancing to some unknown tune.
