What is MA? I read through this whole post and still don't know what it is

It's a term coined from a trading list on the website years ago. It stands for "Mid Advent" Now it's just a unit for valuable pets.

1 "MA" is equivalent to 10 "Old Rares" meaning rares from 2010-2011. This was decided by the CS community through a poll

Addl. "NON" is a term that comes from the old list as well. I don't think it's used as much anymore but it's equivalent to 10 "MA"

In short: 1 "NON" = 10 "MA" = 100 "Old Rares"

Trading Between Years & Rarities

For LOWER rarities --- will generally swap same-rarity pets within 1-3 years (depending on the person & pets involved)

If not dealing with anything in "old rares", try adding up what you feel each side would be worth in C$. Since C$ prices are very fluid, there's more leeway depending on the pets aesthetics or design.

UR; "UnReleased"; a pet who's ONLY ever been released in December 18th boxes. All Special Release pets in the archives, except zebras/malk dragons/cake dogs, are URs

TD; "True Date"; a pet adopted in it's original release, usually the date it has in the archive
RR; "ReRelease"; a past rare/higher pet adopted on December 18th (rerelease day) instead of it's archive date
Extended Release; a pet with an extremely long original release

Trade Up; Trading lower value pets that add up to a higher value one. If you trade your commons for 1 uncommon, you're the one trading up
Trade Down; Trading a higher value pet for lower value ones that add up to it. If you trade your 1 uncommon for some commons, you're the one trading down

"List Pet"; Leftover term that meant the rarest pets on CS. As of of the 2023 Overhaul, these pets are now Tiers 1-6. Old store pets or high demand pets might also be called "list". Terms like "mains, septembers, advents, octobers" came from lists
