Unfortunatly i tried to follow all the rules of your How-To but I'm still getting no trade requests even tho i have over 20 views on the thread. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

20 views is not a lot. Maybe you just need to wait a little while.
You only joined a month ago. Some people don't like trading for unknown rarities and very nearly all of your pets are just that. You will either need to wait until they get their rarities or head over to the free adoption board and grab some freebies so you'll have pets with rarities to trade.

Also, since you just joined, most players already have this months pets on their own so it may just be a case of not having pets people want or need. My sister's having a hard time starting off too because everyone seems to have the pets she just got, but something she found that works is to go through the hoarders thread or even the records thread and see if there are people hoarding this month's commons. That's a good way to trade off pets that are hard to trade off.

should i just get as many pets from this month as i can and wait a year or something so that the value will go up because you can't get them anymore or will the pets just repeat, like pets 1-3 will be there every February?

For now, you want to live here to grab as many free pets as you can so you'll have more pets to trade with and religiously stalk the pound. Usually around month 3 you will start finding people who want some of the pets you have now because by then they are "older", but you can make this go quicker by grabbing as many pets as you can in the free adoptions board. There's many older pets in there and it will give you a bit of a jump so you aren't waiting a year or half a year just to start the trading game. There's also the Easter event coming up in late March, early April and just like any other month, some people will pay out the nose for tokens at the beginning so there's another good opportunity to get some good pets.

You also might want to spend some time in the archive and working on putting more pets you like on your wishlist. There are people that will do "wishlist bombs" so it's a good idea to make sure that pets you really want are on there since you may wind up getting some for free from generous users.
