step one: use the select tool to select the eye, then go to the edit drop-down menu and select 'copy'

step two: go to the edit drop-down menu and select 'paste'.
---> this will create a new layer with an identical copy of the eye.
step three: go to the 'effects' drop-down menu and select 'flip horizontal'
---> note that if you have rotated your canvas to be portrait, you'll need to use 'flip vertical' instead
step four: admire the beautiful face you have created! :)

Oh my goodness, thank you so much!!! :O I did it and it worked but now the extra eye I made isn't in the right place at all. Did I do something incorrect?

Ahhhh, this is such a lifesaver! Thanks!!! :D

Oh whoops, forgot to mention that part! To get the other eye it the right place, use the move tool (circled below) - this lets you move around the layer so you can get it in line with the other eye :)

pictures that allow editing should have a little link that says "color me in" right above their description. when you click on that, it'll open up an editable version of the picture in oekaki.
Image
if you're asking what to edit within the picture, it depends on the picture. most editables will have labelled layers for things like line and color.
Image
for example, if you select this layer, you'll be editing the color within the the lines. selecting "lock alpha" will make it so you can only edit what's on that layer, and not add anything new. this is great for coloring in shapes that are already there without going outside the lines.

~ŋყŋҳ~ wrote:Um I’m a bit confused on where people draw this stuff. I can’t even find the “Oekaki” XD (yeah I’m stupid)

Image
no worries, it's not the most obvious thing! when you're in an oekaki board (for example, beginner's oekaki, which this thread is in), you click this button that says "new drawing" above where all the drawings are. this will open up options to select a canvas size; you just choose one of those and you'll get a canvas you can draw on.

hope this helps! please feel free to pm or reply to me with any further questions (:

Thank you so so much!

Ahhhh, I am back with another question!

Is there any way to make Oekaki canvases a certain pixel size? Like 1500px by 500 px?

When coloring in a photo in the Oekaki, can you manually move the topic, or do you always need to contact a mod?

I'll answer both of these in one swoop!
So first things first, you start with a drawing. To target a specific area on the drawing (or the entire thing), use the select tool and place the box around what you'd like to change. The select tool is the one on the very top left of the tool bar.

Then, click on the drop down button at the top of the canvas that says "edit".

Image

To change the size of your drawing, click "transform" (as marked by the lil rainbow). You can then edit the drawing as you see fit.

To copy and paste your image, click "copy" and then click "paste" (as marked by the star and the heart). This will create a new layer, and the duplicate version of the drawing will be directly under the original. All that's left now is moving the duplicate layer to where you want it!

After it's pasted, the layers should look like this!

If you haven't posted the topic yet, you can choose where it goes. Just go to the forum where you'd like it to be and post it from there. However, if it's already been posted onto a board like Beginner's Oekaki, then you need to contact a mod to get it moved.

How do you name your layers? I figured it out before but now I can't remember.
