-Darkfur, Sagebranch, Sootstep, Goldenfur, and Emberfall are all relatively close in age and were apprentices together.

-Sootstep (Sootpaw at the time) didn't want to be a medicine cat but was told by Starclan that it would be the best way for him to serve his clan. He still hasn't gotten over his longing to be a warrior and have a family instead.

-Heavystep is Sagebranches older brother from their parents' previous litter, he saved her from the violent gang life of the rouges they were living with and took her to be raised with the clans instead.

-Mistclan maintains friendly relationships with their neighboring clans, rarely participating in battles and electing instead to resolve conflicts verbally as much as possible.

-The clans are settled in a lush valley environment, with borders separated mostly by streams. During the winter all the clans have a truce and often work together to help each other survive. They meet during the full moon in a large cave at the base of a mountain. MistClan is seen more as a peacekeeping clan, they don’t typically start fights but they do assist in ending them. Stoneclan is similar to MistClan, they typically avoid conflict and when they do get involved it’s typically only to aid their allies. Brushclan is often more aggressive, keeping tight borders and ensuring outsiders keep away. Vineclan is more problematic than the others, often going out of their way to create conflict and jumping to violence as a way to solve their problems. In the outskirts of the clan territories lives a group of rogues who are more viscous and unruly than the clan cats, they’re made up of mostly exiled clan cats and forgotten house pets.
