Hey everyone! I'd like to thank everyone who helps this circulate around this time every year. I'm glad there are newbies posting on this thread, so we know that it's helping to prevent ninja trading by keeping you informed.
While I'm here, I just want to reiterate that unfortunately, we currently have no means of warning users for scamming as a result of ninja trades. We can step in if there is obvious scamming that involves a user directly lying about a pet's value, but if they say nothing regarding it, it can be defended as simply sending a bad trade (which isn't against the rules).
Even though there are plenty of cases where it may seem obvious as to what someone is doing, this standard prevents a backlog of false scamming reports, as any bad trade could be reported as a ninja trade.
As a result, the best that can be done is to warn users to be careful when trading any pets they receive on December 18th.

We do have a system in place for users who cheat to get more Dec. 18th pets, as well as ways of preventing it.
I wanted to try to address some concerns being brought up in this thread, and I hope this helps!
