Ah but you see its all for the personal gain. Mora doesnt actually care about mortals he has Miraak because Mirakk had power. However when Miraak betrayed Hermaeus Mora, Mora had you kill him as a punishment. You are more powerful than Miraak being the last dragonborn and such and Hermaeus Mora wants to use you. Mora even says that Miraak was foolish to turn against him and that you take him as an example and not do the same. Frea also warns you to avoid Hermaeus Mora snd stay with the allmaker. Speaking of Frea her dad had to die by Mora's hand...Tentical spear thing in order for you to kill Miraak. Plus if you look at the other follower of Hermaeus Mora, Septimus you find that he has gone insane, probably has something to do with the elder scrolls but I believe it also has to do with Mora. And Mora kills Septimus when he is no longer needed to make way for a better servent. The last dragonborn. Pretty much by doing his bidding youve already fallen into his trap. And he doesnt care about any mortals they are just his tools and playthings
