if some of you may have noticed, several accounts on chicken smoothie have been recently compromised. it's stressing. it's crazy. and nothing we've seen before.
(also inspired me to quit faster.)

much is still not known about this hacker. but what we do know is that they haven't stopped. the timer on this drawing is wrong, as i got distracted in the middle. i think about 3 or 4 accounts got breached in the time it took me to make this. i got 50 items for free, got a trade reversed for 50 items. all in the timeline of how long it took me to make this. crazy.

there's not much we as the playerbase can do, but read below for my personal safety tips!

so what can you do to protect yourself?
- make sure to keep your email and password updated. use a UNIQUE password you haven't used on any other websites. the animal jam breach is especially a target. think to yourself, what else have you used for your email address? go from there if you feel unsafe.
- keep a complex password. something easy for YOU to remember, but something new that won't be in old breaches.
- stay away from 'quitting' posts if possible. there are many being posted by this person. we dont know why. if an account has not posted in years and suddenly returns to quit, assume the worst. better to just avoid the risk of reversed trades as a whole, as ur giving them what they want.
- only trade with users you are close with and trust. be wary of any gifts and unsolicited trades.

and most importantly:
- support suggestions threads and try to make your voice heard! even something as simple as "I support." goes miles.
-> 2-FA thread! extra protection with logging in can help.
-> suggestions thread! From email and login confirmations to more coders.
-> trade pins! a personal pin only the account owner knows will lessen the amount of hacked accounts.
-> email change request! if you reset your password or email right now, cs doesn't give you a notification. this can lead to an account being breached without the owner's knowing.
-> coyote's trade reversal compensation! if youve been affected by the reversals, please check this thread out! even if you havent had anything reversed, you can still get a gift! <3

and lastly: help tickets! have a confusing scenario? a question you need to ask? you can send one in to contact the staff! this is esp important for artists, as nick stated that if you got an art payment reversed then they can fix that. it can take from a few hours to a few days for a response.

I got 2.5 nons from that same user. Knew it'd get reversed, still makes me very upset. Safe to say that after this I'll quit the pet side of CS for the most part.

im super sorry to hear those that got their trades reversed though, i feel your pain and its rough to witness.

but also, thank you all for the support!! it means a lot to me. i needed to get my frustrations out somewhere and tried to turn it around and at least be helpful in the meantime! stay safe everyone. we're in this together.
