Ojo

Postby Tjebb » Sat Sep 08, 2018 12:48 pm

Drew an eye (ojo in Spanish) and I think it looks okay. I am soooo much better at pencil and paper, but digitally I can meet other people and get more critic advice. Please leave any tips on animal/anime eyes in the chat. I need help with those. Lots of help. This was a quick draw. Normally, I would take the time to shade and make it better, but this was really just a test.

I no longer actively draw using Oekaki, but I'll try my best to use the forums and talk via dms and such!
Looking for art!

I always recommend layers, if you aren't using them currently c:
Also, try looking at references of real eyes and look at the details in them
And of course, practice (the stereotypical advice, ahaha)
And make a sketch beforehand as well C:

If you aren't using layers here's a few tips:

Add a layer with the plus sign and then put your sketch on it
You can continue to add layers to put different parts of the eye/other drawing on it

I hope I could help; this looks really nice though <3

Overall this is really cool! I'd say the same things as Asymmetrical Garbage - looking up images of eyes so you can focus on drawing the different shapes and proportions. Also layers are definitely super helpful to use - like maybe do one for the main lines, another for colour, and then shading and highlight layers. Altogether for this drawing, I'd say probably try to work on getting smoother lines and then adding more details in the eye. Anyways, I hope this helps! c:
