face exercises

Postby skrapple » Tue Nov 11, 2014 8:57 am

tried a new thing thats supposed to stop "same face" syndrome. you draw random shapes and make them into faces.

this was pretty fun. mostly did it to try and get over this art block, though.. hehe..

loving this so much aaaa

my style unfortunately has a lot of the "same face syndrome" going on, and I've been experimenting with different tactics and things to exaggerate. But I believe this is the best solution. o:

@nebelung; thanks so much >w<
same face syndrome is just about the most annoying thing out there. another thing i look to for help with this sort of thing is a tv show called 'chowder'. i dont know if youve heard of it, but in the show, theres practically no two faces that look the same. owo

@jellybuttons; hehe, thanks! the last face is probably my favorite. he looks like a young santa. xD

eee, I used to watch it all the time. I miss it </3
Of course there's that. But no one really knew what anyone was. I want people to be able to recognize it as what it is and be somewhat realistic, but still differentiate the characters by looks. Sort of like Disney movies. The exaggeration isn't too distracting, and you can tell what everyone is, but can tell them apart.
