hi! if you aren’t aware already, accounts on chickensmoothie are getting hacked recently and at an alarming pace. this is causing a lot of panic and distress among the community and it’s incredibly frightening. these recents hacks are especially a danger to artists, because artists might receive payment (pets, c$, items) from a hacked account only to have it reversed and their work lost. i’ve seen a handful of people quitting already due to the hacks, and something needs to be done.
the chickensmoothie staff team have been doing a great job on dealing with this, but just reversing trades won’t do the trick. instead, it’s a common agreement among the community something needs to be done, and that something is changes to the chickensmoothie security system.
update: nick has stated that he’s working on several security improvements and that some have already been implemented, and an official announcement is coming soon. i am very glad to see we’re taking safety and security fixes/improvements!

In the meantime, all it takes to keep your account secure is to have a unique good password for your CS account that you don't also use on other websites. The issues have been due to leaked passwords from sites like NeoPets being re-used here.
