- 1. Budgie
Common Marking [40%]
Thin barring around the face of the Cupido, similar to the markings on a Budgerigar. Coat beneath is lightened. Barring color will always be darker than the base coat.
Will be hidden under sooty and white markings.

2. Cheeked
Common Marking [40%]
A pale circular "blush" marking on the cheeks of the Cupido. Will always be a lighter shade of the coat. Made to resemble the cheek markings on a Cockatiel, but may be more exaggerated like in the example shown.

3. Toad
Uncommon Marking [25%]
A marking inspired by different species of toads. Circular patterns along the backside of the Cupido, starting along the crest (neck) to the croup (bum), outlined in a darker shade of the coat color, and faded to a lighter color in the center (like a reversed jaguar spot). Face marking consists of darker streaks in a particular pattern, with a faded color in the middle. Will show above most other markings, but will be hidden under sooty and white markings.
Chest spotting is optional.

4. Smew
Rare Marking [10%]
A type of dominant somatic made to resemble the markings of a Smew. Will go above all other markings, white and dominant white included. Variations of the marking are allowed as long as they are recognizable to the original idea.

5. Mother of Pearl
Rare Marking [10%]
Will only ever express on Cupido's with cream [Cr]. Color intensifies on double cream. A marking that mimics the iridescent lining (nacre) of the mollusk shell.

6. Fractal
Rare Marking [10%]
Black (or near-black) branching markings mimicking the lichtenberg scars as seen on wood burning. Will be hidden under most white markings. May express in exaggerated or minimal amounts.
