STEP ONE wrote:Start by getting the base color down and then making the limb, face, and back markings first.
For the face, forehead markingss are going to be going primarily down and around the eyebrows, some parting away from the top or being placed along the brow line. Markings under the eyes will come from the outer corners of the eyes and one coming from the jaw, curving to fit under the eye. Last stripes on the face come from the outer ends of the nose to come partially towards the inner corners of the eyes.

Stripes on the neck are going to go forward and down, markings on the back will break just after the shoulder and then separate along the back. The tail can be connected or not and is in 3-5 stripes along the tail. Legs' stripes are typically angled to the front of the cat and paws have the same dark color on the bottom around the pads.

STEP TWO wrote:Next is placing the inner bullseye. The bullseye should be a non uniform shape, usually mimicking an oval or rectangle, and is placed towards the back of the cat on the torso. It should not be centered, too forward, or on the thigh directly.

STEP THREE wrote:Connect the bullseye to the back stripe. This can be done in a multitude of ways but most often a stripe comes from either the shoulder section or the back section and connects to the bullseye directly. It can be floating as well but there is almost always 1-2 stripes around the bullseye in an oval-like or swirl-like visual.

STEP FOUR wrote:Add the remaining stripes to the body. Typically stripes, again, angle towards the front of the body in a sweeping motion. Cats' shoulders tend to have stripes in a triangle-esq fashion, not a full triangle shape but angled in a way that makes a triangle-like shape consistently. Elbows and knees/inner thighs often have a thicker stripe collection than other parts of the legs.

FINAL STEPS wrote:Simply finish up by making the undercoat and any other missing features. You can add white, make them colorpoint, make them silver, or even tortoiseshell!
