Deva (Claimed 2/05)

Postby minifun990 » Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:10 am

Deva wasn't exactly excited for what the pride had termed the theocret ceremony. Ones a fluke, twos coincidence, but three, three is a trend. Yet, when she opened her eyes it was exactly as Ladon described, even identical to the dog pack running towards her.

The murderous canine pack. Great.

She ran, glancing around quickly for any places she could hide or defend herself. She peeked behind her and breathed a sigh of relief, she could see them still but they weren't too close. Dogs, it seemed were like the micro wolves, they were endurance hunters and would wear her out instead of trying to keep up.

It gave her an idea though. She quickly ran to a tree and leapt up. Watching as the dogs came and started yapping, barking and woofing up the tree. They were quickly shushed though by a sleek, muscular dog.

“Why are you here lion?” The dog asked gruffly, and Deva almost responded wittily before two more dogs pushed through the others to the front. He looked back at them at surprise and bowed his head as they whispered in his ears, Deva and the rest of their pack looking on in confusion.

“Come down here Deva.” The alpha commanded, causing Deva to scoff.

“What, so I can get eaten? No thanks.” The alpha growled but Deva remained safely in her tree. Less of the dogs looked like they were drooling for her flesh though, as the two dogs from before walked through and spoke in the others ears.

“No- A couple of my pack members say you are their gateways.”

“Both of them?” The alpha nodded. “Sometimes you mortals are too three dimensional to only be a gateway for one god.” He said, practically sneering the words three dimensional.

“So we want you to come down here and see if I or my sister suit you more.” One of the two dogs spoke up. She was more muscly than the leader, but nowhere near as sleek. The dog besides her, her sister apparently nodded. They looked almost nothing related, the second dog a lot smaller but with a glint to her beady eyes Deva didn't trust.

“No thanks still.”

“We swear on our honor as gods.” Gasps rang out throughout the pack. Even the leader looked shocked at the larger dogs declaration. It was all Deva needed to know, this was serious. Sighing she hopped down and looked at the two that claimed she was their gateway.

The three walked together away from the discussing pack until the smaller said it was time to stop. She glances around shiftily before looking Deva up and down.

“My name is Idres and this is Seres.” She said pointing to the more muscled dog.
“I can feel we don’t have long so I shall make this brief.”

“And mysterious too most likely.” Seres remarked, teasing the other. Idres just glared softly back.

“As I was saying, we will have a look at some of your memories and core, to find which of us is better suited to be your patron.”

“Alright… If that is the only way.” They looked at each other and both nodded, putting a paw on each of Deva’s shoulders. A torrage of thoughts and memories bombarded her before stopping suddenly. She couldn't help but brush against her head for signs of horns.

“Your prey…” Seles shook her head. “You hunt your animal prey like me, with strength.”
“Yet… Your other prey, Kinaaz.” Deva froze while the chihuahua spoke. “You were hunting her like I hunt my prey, with wiles.”

“I don't think either of us would be able to do much more than bless you Deva, so who do you choose.”

It wasn't particularly a hard decision, some of the thoughts that came from Idres… Well with a patron like her Deva felt like she would always had to watch her back. She bowed to Seres, letting her paw take her back to the land of mortals.
