Illegal Poncho Pal Traits Pt. 2

Postby kiwipen » Thu Dec 07, 2017 9:58 am

---- Not Enough Black and White ----

Part of the charm and the style of Poncho Pals is the lack of colors in the design. While this design meets the color requirement of no more than three colors, it actually has too much color showing. We use pure black and pure white as a design choice intentionally -- Poncho Pals are meant to be minimalistic shadow creatures, and by omitting black and/or white, you are not helping them fit the aesthetic.

We like to say on average 25-30% of the pal should be pure black or white. While grey does help, there still must be pure white or pure black in a noticeable part of the design that is more than a tuft of hair, seen in this example.

---- Trait Overload ----

We do not have trait rarities for a reason --- there is simply no reason to limit the creativity of others. That being said, there is a point where one's "creativity" must be toned back. This Pal meets all other requirements -- it has no illegal traits discussed above. It has no attached limbs, and it has only one color. HOWEVER. As you can see, this is a mess of traits. So much so, that you're not even sure what you're looking at.

Excessive toning / patterning on the wings and the ponchos is fine IF it's the only toned / patterned thing, and it is not accompanied by four wings, a long tail, horns, ears, and limbs. However, this is clearly overloaded and the silhouette of the Pal is lost in a mess of traits.

This is a grey area of Poncho Pal MYO judging, so it will not be enforced harshly. Just don't do this.

Thanks to CaligulasPeri for lending their MYO for a butchering.
