✪ Tignix Adopts Genetics Guide Part 8- The 'L' Gene ✪
This gene controls the length and density of tignix fur.
✪ Alleles and Phenotypes ✪
There are two alleles for the 'L' gene:
'L'- this is the dominant allele. In its homozygous form it codes for the short fur as seen in the plains subspecies. In its heterozygous form is codes for the mid-length fur as seen the the forest subspecies.
'l'- this is the recessive allele. In its homozygous form it codes for the long fur as seen in the mountain subspecies.
✪ Allele combinations ✪
'L/L'- short fur (plains subspecies)
'L/l'- mid-length fur (forest subspecies)
'l/l'- long fur (mountain subspecies)
