what are gemmas?
-
- Gemmas were recently discovered on a small island in the middle of the Pacific by a team of wildlife biologists.
They are generally about 3-4 ft tall, and can weigh up to about 75-80 lbs. Gemmas share many characteristics of both a lynx and a fox, but upon further inspection, it was found that they have small feather-like features on their paws, so it is unclear what animals they originated from. A Gemma will occasionally bond with a human. When a Gemma bonds with a human, they become said human's guardian and companion. Gemmas are not pets, not even bonded ones, Although they can still be very loving and playful. Bonding with a Gemma is a very rare occurrence and considered a great honor. Here you can bond with a Gemma of your own!
gemstones
-
- Each Gemma has a gemstone, that hangs from their neck, acting as a necklace. This gemstone is given to Gemmas almost immediately after said Gemma's birth. It is very difficult for gemstones to get damaged. If a Gemma's gemstone happens to get cracked or damaged, it will regenerate within a few moments.
flight
-
- These gemstones are what give Gemmas the ability to fly. If a gemstone is completely shattered, the Gemma will be unable to fly for the rest of it's life, and will have to resort to ground walking. When Gemmas fly, their tail is encased in an aura which is generally the same color as their gemstone, but not always. Gemmas can fly up to 6 ft off the ground.
