My JBD, Cas as a tribute to Rosie the Riveter
Based on Norman Rockwell's painting
Rosie the riveter was an extremely popular cultural icon during World War II. She represented the millions of American women factory workers who produced supplies and munitions while the men were gone. They basically took over their jobs to keep the county and the war running.
The cultural icon was possibly based on a real woman, Rosie, who worked as a riveter. This was actually somewhat unusual for women war workers, as riveting was a skill that required extensive training, and those who got proficient at it became valuable employees. They couldn't be demoted as easily at the end of the war and replaced with returning men.
Basically, Rosie the Riveter represented women's ability to master skilled crafts such as metal working. And that ability still stands today.
