To "paint", you don't really need to combine any tools. All you need is the watercolor and eraser tool. I personally have my watercolor brush set like this:
Square hard brush
-Size will vary a lot
-Opacity usually at about 180, but I mess around with it a lot.
-Color kept at 70, but this is also changed a lot.
-Blend is always at 100
-Spacing and scattering are unused most of the time
-and Smoothing at 83, but that's only because I use a mouse. I don't know how this applies to tablets.
And the process I go through to paint is really hard to explain with words. I'll draw up a tutorial of sorts some time later.
