English meaning: Vibrancy
Gender: male
Story:
He once saw the world as a dim, dank, and dark place, and loves when vibrance is brought to the world in fun and unique ways. He thinks that everyone can always strive to be more colorful and, well, vibrant.
When he was born, vibrancy was not vibrant; his name was Maco and he had very handsome colors and markings; but it was not enough for him. He wanted to be different, he wanted to change the world and everyone in it, and he started with himself.
A misty summer morning had come about, and Maco decided that day was the day he would make a difference. He ran into the forest and found a small patch of brightly colored berries and picked as many as he could of every different color he could find. Maco then sorted them into piles by color on a small patch of plush green grass, a perfect little circle about the size of the canopy of a large tree. It contained small flowers of dull colors that swung slowly in the summer breeze. He found some large, palm frond-like leaves that he placed each of the piles on top of, and began to mash the berries down to a pulp. As he smashed the berries, the juice began splattering his body, but he didn't notice or care because of his excitement about making the world a better, brighter place. When he finished, he stood back from his bowls and began to think of what he should brighten up first.
As he pondered the question, he absent-mindedley began to lick the berries off his paws. As he did so, the light coming through the canopy began to shine brighter and brighter, but only did he notice the light when the splatters of berries all over his fur began to sparkle. He watched in amazement and wonder as the berry juice became one with his dull black fur. He looked up and saw the light starting to dim, and then looked back at his coat. What he saw was the most amazing thing; he now had splatter-shaped markings covering his body, in every color he could ever imagine; he couldn't believe it.
Maco began spattering the forest with his berry juice, then the whole forest began to get brighter, and all the trees began to sparkle. The result was true beauty; true vibrance. He ran as fast as he possibly could back to his village, he barely ever touched the ground, his heart fluttering with joy and excitement about what he had discovered, he couldn't wait to tell everyone.
When he got to his small village, he called everyone in to the meeting circle, and began telling them his fantastic tale. They listened intently, and made small sounds of astonishment and disbelief as he told of the brightening light and the sparkling berry juice. When he finished his story, they all began to swarm him with questions, filled with doubt and excitement. He told them that they should name the forest, and he wanted them all to come and see.
As he led them to the forest, they began timidly feeling his fur as they walked, thinking they would just feel the splattered juice of berries, but all they felt was the silky fur that lay neatly on his head and back. They were clearly amazed, and it made Maco feel that he had truly made a difference in their lives.
When the forest came into sight, the villagers began to sing and dance because of the beauty Maco had brought to the forest. They ran the last bit of distance, eager to prance beneath the trees. He watched as faces began to brighten, shoulders began to lift, as hope of a better and brighter future was restored.
When they arrived, they began begging him for beautiful markings of their own, so he sought to grand his wishes and began prancing toward his small little patch of grass. When he got to the little spot, the bowls of berries were nowhere in sight, he looked all around, but to no avail. He quickly went over to the group of bushes where he picked the gorgeous berries, but there were none left, he had already picked them all. He told the people that there were none left, and they all mumbled in disappointment. He suggested that someone should come out every day, to the same bushes, and search for the berries. They were optimistic, and carried on frolicking through the spectrum of colors.
The villagers decided to name the forest Maco's forest, in honor of what he had done. But they also thought Maco deserved a new name, one that he would hold with great honor and pride, and everyone would know it was he that had made the difference in the world, he who brightened up the lives of others and brought color into there lives; he was then on known by everyone as Vibrancy.
Every day for 50 years, a different villager has come out to Maco's forest, eager to be the one to find the berries, but they have never grown back since that day. The tale of the berries has been told to all the ones who did not experience that day, and will be told to all the generations to come. Vibrancy believes that if everything was vibrant, nothing would be special, and we would all just then be plain and dull, dark, dank, dim like the world once was.
