Hiccup can decide what contest she wants to do. Every bean that's posted there is a chance that you will win, non-owners or not. While beans available for non-owners are great every once and a while, it excludes part of the population and while it may seem fair on the one hand, it's not always.

Either way Hiccup will choose the contest she pleases, and I'm sure more non-owner beans will pop up soon. No need to argue about it or get hurt feelings.
