I used a brush sized about 20 to 30, with a low opacity and 500% scattering. Then, I just experimented with different colours, layers and settings until I got something like this. =3

Wow, good job! Very cool background and very nice coloring on the base. It looks just like my character Aurora! I think I adopted Aurora from the B.O.D. ... ?
