I know this would probably take awhile for the archivists to do, but it would be a huge help if the pets
in the archive had tags that could be searched for.
Just searching by species and artist doesn't feel like enough, especially if you're looking
for certain style of pet.
I've had trouble finding things in the item archive too, when I'm trying to locate something a little more
specific.

Not sure how it could be implemented for pets considering there's so many and they don't have official names in the archives the same way items do, but I'd be 100% in favour of an advanced searchbar in the item archive!
It can take a longgg time to search through the archive for a specific item you have in mind, but either don't know if it's something that exists or don't remember where it's from. Sometimes you have an idea for a dress-up and know what kind of item you need e.g a red dot, but want to compare options so you know what would work best and what you want to be looking to trade for/add to your wishlist (I do a lot of character dress-ups so it's a problem I run into frequently.) It would save so much time to be able to input certain keywords to find items e.g 'blue' 'goldfish' rather than having to comb through every event or category that might have what you're looking for.
Considering all the items in the archive are named and we already have a searchbar feature for our own collections, I'm hoping this would be something that could work.

The pets don't necessarily need to have official names, just some broad tags attached to them that fit their aesthetic/type/rarity.
Maybe have an auto-fill in feature too so people don't get confused about what tags are available.
(ex. if a user types in "summer event rare rat", it will filter everything out and only show rare summer event rats.
Or if someone types in "space", they'll get some outer-space themed pets.)
Like I said, it would take a long time for the archivists to put themed tags under every pet, but it
could be very worthwhile for people who don't want to collect literally every pet and just want ones that they like
visually- or need a certain type of pet that they want for a themed collection or dressup.
There's a bunch of pets I never knew existed because they were buried in the monthly adopts
during the years that I wasn't around on CS, and I feel like a lot of other returning adult players are
having the same problem.
And yeah what you're saying for the item archive is exactly what I'm talking about. ^^'

Ah gotchu, tagging by design/type makes a lot of sense. Would love to be able to filter by keywords for themed collections (ace themed and sunflowers in my case.)
And I know what you mean, I came back after a period of inactivity last November and I’m still discovering new designs that I didn’t know existed!
