remove store items from counting towards collection

i've seen the suggestion for special releases to not count towards a full collection, and we know store pets don't count - based on this, why do store items count? store pets are removed from the collection as they're hard to get hold of if you don't have money, but the same applies to store items. cs is a site for kids, who wouldn't be able to buy things.

i believe that store items should either not count towards a full collection or have to be toggled on. i personally have every free item from 2025, but haven't been collecting the store ones as i don't believe they count. it would get expensive if i or other users were to try and get hold of them, especially older ones.

although you can filter the archive so it just says free, it still won't give you a full collection, even though this applies with pets.

please feel free to debate in replies, just don't argue - all opinions are valid :)

I don't think Store Items should count, but it looks like they aren't separated in the archive the same way that Store Pets are? It'd be nice to know if this is possible from the back end, I know a bunch of items got more updated tags recently to distinguish between Free items and trade-in or C$ items. If they're already fully distinguished then it'd be nice to get a 'store' section for those items that cost C$ specifically in the archive and for them to be excluded from a complete collection.

i think the only way is to filter the archive, like how you can filter artists and stuff - it would be really good to see a way they're actually separated

Support! Store items are also harder to find because they lack rarities, and trade data for them is hard to come by.

I like the idea of a toggle. I'm not actively trying to complete an item collection, but likely once my pet collection is close enough to complete I will. It would be nice to be able to click another toggle like the show completed months. like maybe have one thats show completed months (master set)
my thought towards referring to it as a master set collection. In pokemon card collections you can have a complete set, but to have a complete master set you also have all the variations of the cards in the set.

Token trade-ins are considered free items in the archive, so the back-end structure is already there separating store items from non-store items.
