im guessing maybe it could be because of just the seal skin itself? idk though, this doesn't seem bad to me

I kinda get it. Considering it's a pet collection site it's a little jarring to see a skinned animal (fictional or not) as an item. Though I've never considered this item in this way until I saw this thread!

It doesn’t bother me either, bc I always thought selkies were pretty cool and I like these items, but I guess some people would dislike it

I like it! Selkie folklore involves them being able to take their sealskin off and on like a coat to change between seal and human form, and that's all this item is. The set it came from even includes a selkie ^^!

As an Irish person, I can say with certainty that this item really isn’t as dark as it seems,but I wont go into detail about it since it’s already been explained above and there’s no need to reiterate . I can see why not all would like it of course.

it feels like the lore could be derived from seals being actually skinned, I need to look into it more though
