add rarity between "very rare" and "OMG so rare" - thoughts

ill keep this concise. basically, the rarity system between rares and omg so rares is broken. too many very rare pets are worth more than some omg so rare pets. even some rares are in demand more than very rares! it all so messed up!

so its been suggested by many on this thread that we add a new rarity and rework the current rare to omgsr rarities.

this rarity could be called extra rare! we threw around the term ultra rare, but thought it might get confused with ur pets. if you have suggestions for what this rarity could be called please leave a comment on this thread.

its also been discussed as a counter to this new vr-omgsr rarity that one is added between omgsc and very common. this is up for more discussion in this thread of course.

so to lay it out, with these two suggestions, rarity would go as follows:

OMGSC < EC (extra common) < VC < C < UC < R < VR < ER (extra rare) < OMGSR

I love this idea! Though I'm unsure how helpful it would actually be. Often times VR pets are considered by the community to be worth more than an OMGSR. The UR Bee is one of the biggest offenders. They are valued at 3 non, the same value as an OMGSR store pet from 2009. This doesn't make sense at all considering store pets have never been re-released and the UR Bee is only a VR. We also see it with pets like the joker dog being valued the same as omgsr pets like the galaxy cat or malk PPS. I support any rarity update, because the current system feels a bit out of date. Though I think a more concrete/more specific rarity system would be better.

In my humble opinion, rarity is such a broad topic with so many interpretations that I don’t think any rarity system would be able to satisfy everyone. What I’d suggest, if the admins did want to change the system at all, there should first be a poll with a feedback forum, rather than just slapping the change onto the site. I like this suggestion, another idea would be to make OMGSR the second highest tier and add something above it like “limited” “exclusive” etc

I dont really see the need of adding an extra tag in the common section, since those gaps are tiny. The pets dont have a big value when trading. If you trade for 3 2020 rares, 1 vc or c doesnt make any diffrence.

However, i'd love to see an extra tag in the rare section. On the discussion thread people talked about ultra rare (UR) but this would conflict with unreleased (also UR) so seeing extra rare makes me happy!
The gap between a vr store pet and the very rare joker is huge!
There is a lot of guessing and demand when the rarest pets were added to the list. I remember people saying "the august pps isnt rare enough to be on the list" but how do we know? "I see it everywhere" duh! It was new and demand was through the roof! Ofcourse people were trading when people offered septemberlist or main list for it! But there is no way to see how rare a pet really is whlithout counting every pet and excluding inactive accounts (but how long does it have to be inactive not to count as active amymore?)

A new rarity might make things more clear!
