More Mini Event Pets

hi there! my name is tal and today i come to you with An Idea.

i'd love to see more mini holiday pets! we have major holidays, christmas, new years, halloween, and the yearly summer events going on and they're fantastic, i love it! but i think it'd be great to have more!

here's my idea: we take small non-religious holidays (earth day, opposite day, friendship day, things like this!) and we start them on the day, but they last about 5 days to adopt pets. earth day would be fun! you could literally have cats where the theme is fruit bushes, and watch as the bush grow and eventually bears fruit! it'd be cute! opposite day could have cats wearing dog costumes, rats wearing cats costumes, like the ponies in list pet costumes!

as for actual religious holidays, more kwanzaa pets, solstice pets! (theres a summer and winter solstice!) yule! beltain!

there's even festivals to celebrate! like tanabata! golden week!

i think there's a lot of potential here, and this post is very all over the place because i wanted to get it on paper before i forgot about it, but it doesn't even have to be pets, some items would be good too! i think it'd make the site more immersive and help it stay fresh and interesting. leave your thoughts below and tell me (and whoever stumbles upon this thread) what else you'd like to see or even ideas to make this come to reality!

this would be great. i love how CS has on occasion added pets/items for Mardi Gras, and for Thanksgiving, and i would enjoy seeing other smaller holidays making an appearance.

St. Patricks Day is always celebrated on CS, other international celebrations would be fun like cinco de mayo, oktoberfest, a st. david's day dragon would be cool, a hanami/sakura season pet or item too...

FR has a nod to International Talk Like a Pirate Day every September 19th, there could be some eye-patch wearing macaws heh. kinda silly but that would be a fun one..

I support this in theory.

In practicality, it does mean much more work for the artists, admins and mods. I believe Tess has mentioned in the past that doing other religious holidays, outside of the mostly western holidays such as christmas, would be a minefield that would be hard to tread across. Doing the holidays that have religious connotations, but is celebrated worldwide and by a large amount of non-religious peoples, is easier. There's also the issue with "Well you did religious celebration for this religion so why can't you do it for mine?" and of course, some religious holiday's could be deeply offensive to other culture's and religions. It's a difficult area to navigate.

However, I am very supportive of holidays such as Talk like a pirate day, and Earth day etc. non-religious celebrations are great.
