This is pretty self-explanatory and I think my reasons for it are clear.
-Timer is very often off
-Some artists may be embarrassed by the length of time
-Some artists probably take frequent or long breaks and leave the drawing up
-If you end up redoing the picture, the timer is obviously not going to start over
What do you think about an option to turn the timer off?

I think they have the timer because some people might like to know how long it took them to do something, but I agree, sometimes I don't like people to see how long it took me - and like you said, a lot of people leave the window up so the timer keeps going. I think that there should be the option to them off the timer if you want

I really like this suggestion, and it could be like for example when you post your finished drawing, where the timer is beside it could be "turn timer off", and it could ask you "are you sure you want to turn the timer off?" and you can say yes. There could also be an option to turn it back on. Although I don't use the Oekaki, in many drawing I see users say "timer is not correct", or users are misleads by the timer.

I agree! Sometimes I'll draw something and it will take several hours (2-4) but then it's kind of embarrassing because there are people on here who could draw something infinitely better than my work in 20 minutes. And of course, knowing that those people can see my work and my timer and then think "Wow, how on earth did that take so long? It's not even that great!" makes me feel a bit not so good.
