maybe instead of giving volunteer coders direct access to the actual site, there could be a duplicate "dummy" site (or even just individual pages/sections) for testing things? :0c only able to be accessed by certain people, of course. then potentially a volunteer coder could put something together, test in, and Nick could decide himself whether or not it's worth implementing on the real site?
Oh i love the idea of a dummy site!!!!! This could be so helpful and just- wow!!

they should make an ur monthly lion that can be adopted from the cat litter /j (but that would be insane)
anyway, back on the topic of stuff, i really hope that they do consider hiring volunteer coders. i think something CS really needs is more coders. nick can only do so much, and like a lot of people have said he is an adult with a life of his own. it's obvious he doesn't have the time for CS anymore, and he shouldn't have to make time for it - there are plenty of people who are willing to volunteer their time to this site. i completely understand it's probably going to be hard to teach other people how to code the code he's been personally working on for so long now, but i think it's an extremely necessary thing that needs to happen to keep this site going

I feel like more coders are really needed. Nick is an adult with his own life, so he shouldnโt be expected to solve all the issues quickly. A team of coders would give him a chance to rest, and it would help out a lot in general!

I have a unique roll on this website, as I would consider myself a ghost of sorts. For many years I have seldom traded, and I have avoided the forums (in fact this is my first time posting in another individualโs thread ever in my 10 years on this website) And although being an artist, I have yet to try to make art on this website. But I come back frequently to enjoy the small things. I love to look at other artistโs work, I enjoy the designs of the pets, and lastly the events truly bring me a sort of nostalgic glee. So then, why is it that over the years I have watched the community crumble, when this website still brings me the same amount of happiness that I had when I made my account in 2013? Is it the expectations that there should be a degree of change and advancement within a website of this age? So what is it about my experience that differs so much from everyone elseโs?
Despite the joys that this website brings me, I do have one major gripe. Pet and Item value.
For me, my biggest gripes of this website is how unbelievably difficult it is to understand pet and item value. Itโs like learning a different language. People tend to take โbadโ trades personally as though itโs an attack on their person, When in actuality the trading system is just so convoluted and unintuitive that individuals send trades without fully grasping the concept of pet value.
(I would like those who read this to know that I have almost backed out of posting this like 20 times)

i love this idea but yes, nick is only 1 dude on the internet and we are lots of other dudes on the internet. more coders = less stress on 1 dude + satisfied community of dudes
