Totally agree, there are too many personal trading rules/expectations from players which I know I struggled with understanding when I was new, can't imagine how hard it is for new players now.

As an old user (had a user in the past as a kid, don't remember it lol), this site used to be much, much more popular. A lot of us older users were also much younger and I think part of the reason the site seems dead is because a good chunk of us grew out of CS.

The demographic for ChickenSmoothie is geared towards a younger audience, which is completely fine but the said younger audience just isn't interested in an older site like this.

My suggestion, is I'd love to have a more geared towards an older audience ChickenSmoothie site, like a second version of it just like how AnimalJam and Fer.al were. However, that is a lot to ask for coming from a site like this; it's wishful thinking lol.

That is my magic on CS, I love to be one of those players that like to help brighten anothers day.
I have an adoption centre, gift randomly and also participate in Halloween and Christmas gifting games.
Mebbe we should stop complaining and instead do something about it too!
I love this site and would hate to see the community collapse around greed and demand. I too have been guilty of this in the past. But many others are worse.
For example: last week i traded with someone and because i was overpaying by double, they still wanted more?
Why?
Another player demanded cs$30,000, seriously?
Lol
But anyway, I still hang in there.

You have a point, friend. Gifting is one of the aspects of this site that does bring me joy. When I feel stagnant or when things feel unobtainable, I just gift other users to try and spread joy.

I thought my 2009 VR was rarer then a 2015 VR but nope! I kept on getting yelled at by players and they didn’t even tell me what was wrong with it ! Very unmotivating to keep going when theres so much problems with trading people :c

I hear you. One time, a person literally said “Really? Are you joking?” When I was new and offering for a pet. Like come on people! It hasn’t even been a full month I’ve been here, and I’ve already had enough. No one even tries to reply to my posts, and I get really hurt by that… especially when I spent a long time writing it…

Exactly, and it sucks that this can’t be fixed because mods can’t really change how people are, and they also can’t just hand everyone their dream pets so I don’t think this will ever go away sadly :c

I literally had asked politely in messege about a trade thread of someone's because i was confused they literally said to me "because you cant read properly u dont get anything ^^" -- which was rather rude. so i get it.

Honestly, this. I also wanted to add here, that because the site is so extremely geared toward kids...it kinda makes adults like myself feel out of place. I've gotten warnings multiple times now for "rude" behavior. And most of the time, I won't even realize the wording was rude, so it's kinda like "what did I even do, that wasn't even rude". It's almost like if you aren't tiptoeing on every word you say, you're gonna get in trouble. And in general I've noticed that even just normal words and phrases are getting people in trouble the same way. You have to watch everything you do, in fear of being told off. It just adds an extra layer to the game for adults, where it's like we really aren't welcome here, even tho this game should really not be for kids at all with the amount of real life money that is required to have any sense of completion of "getting every pet” like they suggest you do. Coppa players tend to have a horrible time on the game as is, and there are so little kids even playing, that it almost seems like there isn't a reason for all of the restrictions they add. I fully understand most of them, but just the fact that if you say something the wrong way, and it comes off not good, you can easily have 10+ years of work taken from you. Just seems extremely excessive for a game "geared toward kids" that most kids, don't even play.

Check out my Trade Thread!

My Site Suggestion: 30k rares for your 1 rare

omg i remember animal jam lmao i got scammed out of a really valuable spiked collar and 2 headdresses and i havent even touched the game sense

Scared to even look into trading under the fear of offending someone because of how weird values on things are.
I just come here every so often, mostly just to look at the pound.
I havent bothered with a real wishlist because I feel like its not even worth it to try to actually get into things, so instead I have a crazy WL just so I can see what things in the pound are. lol.
Wish I coulda joined when the site was newer, I feel like I coulda been able to get into things a bit more.

I used to play as a kid in 2013? somewhere around there. I 100% agree with this. It's weird to see pets that were incredibly easy to get then be worth as much as they are now- makes me wish i still had the account they were on or that i never quit. My collection then would be worth insane amounts now.
I don't like making trades. I'm not afraid of anyone getting upset, to my knowledge that hasnt happened yet, but i wouldnt even know where to start. I just go through adoption centers- adopting and donating as i go- and wait for trades to come to me. I can look at trades sent to me and use the logic of the trading economy back in like 2012 but i dont really know if the perceived value of my pets is the same as the one im trading for. It's easier to rely on others and trust they will be fair than risk getting all of my trades consistently cancelled. Only reason i'm doing well in the game is because i've started selling my art.

They’re right. The mods can’t change the site, we can. We are the ones who turned this site toxic, so if we can do that, we can change it back to before! Maybe we can use some help, but overall, just acting nice and gifting people pets you don’t need can make their entire day better :)
I love how we are having a conversation about this, and not arguing like a lot of people. Thanks everyone!

i’ve noticed this too. definitely makes sticking around less enjoyable because of this.

This all is true...I personally feel biggest drops at auctions + trades. Giveaways do alright and always have been and we also have lot of new users here so that's new hope. It's just unfortunate that all of them have only chance of getting rare old pets by - pound, giveaways, once a year 3 pets on 12/18. And that's not enough for anyone to revive trading.

Another thing with trades and their fairness is - 99% of values are now being pulled from "successful trade thread", which is FILLED with massive overpay trades, won auctions, trading with friends and biased values etc. (sadly without the trade post mentioning it most of the time)

Personal trade issue - lot of people have all groups open, but trade maybe 20% of it. I don't even send trades anymore if I see that and I would say many other people don't either. There is thread to advice people not to do this (Shian's Guide to Successful Trading)
Personally I think if everyone read these and followed same rules, trading would get a little bit easier. And having NFT in pet names is just....ahhh many people won't read rules, nor pet names so it's always better to lock it.
"Welcome" groups and "showcase" groups - confusing and useless. Users won't see your pet dress-up anyway and will likely send trade for them if it's unlocked. This builds negativity from all the trade cancelling and sometimes even banning each other.

Auctions - Depend solely on demand and few leftover users who still want to send offer. I understand everyone want's to get as much as possible out of their pets but that is what "AUTOS" should have been for and has been for a long time. (as an option to people who want mentioned pet immediately and choose to overpay, not to determine value of pet). There is not much of advertisement for this forum either as the rules mention not to repost until your post is on second page and nobody will ever see these posts unless they go directly into Auction forum :)

All these issues could be solved and it's not that hard if people work together again. But sadly that is very unlikely....I don't mean to offend anyone by this but the only important thing to people today seems to be LGBTQ and other "topics" on social media and everyone is offended for stupid reasons (such as receiving trade for pet that has NFT in name) and not many people want to be nice, leave message, negotiate...general kindness just isn't "trending on social media" now and so we feel it to the core.
