Something Needs to Be Done About C$ Inflation [POLL ADDED]

I know nobody cares about the ads except me apparently but they're really intrusive on mobile and I accidently click them all the time

So it would be really cool if the subscription model included no ads.

I would love no ads cause I keep getting this stupid one abt a full meal for holidays like no thanks I’ll just eat my snacks in peace

{I support this idea, though I do have to point out:}
{C$ is so much more commonplace now than back when I started because, simply, we're adults now. Even younger people have more access to currency, real or otherwise, because of how the internet has evolved over the last decade. It's much easier to get C$ because so many of us can just...buy however much we want. I tend to spend at least $20 on C$ weekly. I couldn't do that in 2012, I was allowed to by the same amount of C$ and it had to last me 3-4 months because it was only for store pets. Now that I have a job and make my own money, I just buy more C$ whenever I run out. So, realistically-- the inflation of C$ is largely due to the userbase having more access to currency. It was inevitable.}
{That aside, I love the ideas you have for using up the C$ around the site. I would definitely contribute to a subscription, especially for ad removal, and a sort of gacha would be SO fun! I would go feral trying to get all the exclusive prizes >0c}
{At the end of the day, it definitely is unfortunate that the C$ values of pets are so high now, but it was a long time coming just because the userbase has grown older. Nonetheless, I love these ideas, and would love to see them happen even if just for fun c:}
{edit;; I especially agree about the items. We don't get very many free items anyway, so I'd gladly put more C$ towards buying monthly items instead.}

I am a new user and also probably much older than most people on this site.

I think the prices are ridiculous for older items. They are just pixels. You cannot take them home with you so why on earth would someone pay so much real money to have it in their stash when they can just look at it in the archives with pretty much the same result.

I enjoy this site but cannot justify paying that much to get the store arabian I would like - its not as if it will help my life out any!

I have no problems paying a subscription or for store pets to support the developers and artists on CS however. I think that those that can should support sites that they get joy out of.

The 2009 dogs are much less interesting and nice than the current ones to look at in general! Which shows to me that people are needing rarity to feel self worth on a site built for pleasure and beauty.

any game that has trading in it and is about as old as chicken smoothie suffers from this issue. but if we're being real, c$ has never been a practical way to trade for the rarest pets on the game, not even when the inflation wasn't so bad. it is much easier and more feasible to trade up using pets and items then it is amassing enough c$ to trade for a ex-list pet using pure c$.

people with c$ need to stop overing/entertaining overtrades to get the pets they want, because overtrades keep getting accepted, which just makes people ask for more because they just saw x pet go for x ridiculous amount

I'm neutral on most of the suggestions raised in this post, except for this one:

Tentative suggestion but I’d love to see some kind of gacha machine implemented that would cost C$ to use, and in return users would get an item or pet from an exclusive set that would be made specifically for the gacha. This doesn’t have to be that complicated- it can just be a randomized trade-in as used in events, though I understand that it’s easier said than done.

Absolutely no support. This is gambling. It has no place on a site aimed largely at young children. Also, adding a gacha for a currency with RL cost would, aside from being immoral, be actively illegal in several (EU) countries.

disregarding the immoral thing, id be against something like gacha being introduced to CS just because trading for regular pets with crazy spikes in demand is already difficult enough without there being some kind of new exclusive random-chance group of pets that would absolutely get their values inflated because of their perceived worths. idk. just sounds like a headache, something that would be fun on its own but not as an addition to a game like CS :,,)

i see your point here. personally i wouldn’t have a problem with it because, as you alluded to here, crazy demand already exists for store pets and regular adopted pets, but again i do see your point.

i want to add that these are again preliminary suggestions- none of them warranted their own topic because i came up with them in five minutes. i expect that most of them wouldn’t work.
