[urgent] this site really is actually dying

I saw this topic pop up on the home page and wanted to throw in my two cents. I was here in 2009 with my original account; it was a different feeling with "demand", etc, since there are a decade and a half's worth of pets to contend with, but I don't remember it being much different. I rejoined September 2021 for good, and the core site feels very much the same, at least to me. All the values make sense. You will get some users who consider things worth more than you do, and that's fine - the trade just gets cancelled mutually ^^ I don't accept trades I don't like, and there is no obligation for anyone else to. There are people out there who will do more desirable trades for you, since everyone's preference is going to be different. The Pound is helpful for trade-ups, and the Lost and Found, if you trade with players who love items (like me!!). It is always worth it to start collecting, if that's what you enjoy!

My two cents… I have been around for a long time. People in general have gotten ruder. I have always tried to be nice and polite and to give to others. I asked for something nicely and get blasted for daring to ask for something. So hence, It’s hard to get new pets that I don’t have already. Meaning older more valuable. New just born pets are still fairly easy but god help us if you ask the wrong person.

Hi, I agree that the site has lost a lot of it community spirit, but now and then someone just comes along and sends a gift to you... for no reason.
That is my magic on CS, I love to be one of those players that like to help brighten anothers day.
I have an adoption centre, gift randomly and also participate in Halloween and Christmas gifting games.
Mebbe we should stop complaining and instead do something about it too!
I love this site and would hate to see the community collapse around greed and demand. I too have been guilty of this in the past. But many others are worse.
For example: last week i traded with someone and because i was overpaying by double, they still wanted more?
Why?
Another player demanded cs$30,000, seriously?

But anyway, I still hang in there.

Okay gonna be honest with you, I've been playing CS for years on and off (Started in 2013) and the one thing that puts me off is how utterly hard it is to talk to people on here. Hardly anyone replies to me when I post on the forums and its always been this way. Its hard to get into the game and understand how everything works when people don't talk to you. (mostly) everyone on here is very rude and I'm constantly scared of offending people with possibly unfair trades, and not trading with them correctly because everyone has different rules.

I think that could be one of the reasons players aren't sticking around. I'm not sure what could improve this though, it may even just be me who's encountering this problem. CS is a fairly idle game, there's nothing keeping the players around until yearly events, which is both a blessing and a curse because it allows for casual gameplay, but obviously not many people are visiting the site on a day to day basis. CS used to be a fairly happy, friendly site but these days most of its players aren't even open to conversation...

I definitely think its the trading and some players, I just came back a few months ago after not truly playing for a few years so I forgot list pets were a thing, people were so rude when I would trade them because I didn’t understand. I thought my 2009 VR was rarer then a 2015 VR but nope! I kept on getting yelled at by players and they didn’t even tell me what was wrong with it ! Very unmotivating to keep going when theres so much problems with trading people :c

I thought my 2009 VR was rarer then a 2015 VR but nope! I kept on getting yelled at by players and they didn’t even tell me what was wrong with it ! Very unmotivating to keep going when theres so much problems with trading people :c

I hear you. One time, a person literally said “Really? Are you joking?” When I was new and offering for a pet. Like come on people! It hasn’t even been a full month I’ve been here, and I’ve already had enough. No one even tries to reply to my posts, and I get really hurt by that… especially when I spent a long time writing it…

i love that we have the freedom to trade however we want but i think we could also benefit from some sort of trading rules for the entire site. idk how it would work but i think there should be something to follow because people are becoming rude and trading is something everyone struggle with especially people who are new, dont do art or coding and who dont play on other sites. like we should be able to trade without outside factors

dude i got this too! they were SO rude and yelled at me telling me its not a list pet or saying like all these terms i didnt understand it was just so unfair to me since i had just gotten back onto this game

i agree with a lot of the people here, as someone who played animal jam as a kid back in its peak it feels a lot like that; when you have a game where trading is a big part of it, eventually it gets so that the rarer things from years ago can become unobtainable and when you're a new player it can be nearly impossible to get any older pets by just playing the game normally. and once trading becomes a big thing a community can really start to fizzle out and as time goes on people get less interested in talking with others and more interested in just trading, and it's a bit sad but who knows what you could do to fix it

Exactly, and it sucks that this can’t be fixed because mods can’t really change how people are, and they also can’t just hand everyone their dream pets so I don’t think this will ever go away sadly :c
