Basically I have seen from a lot of people on a lot of threads that when their trades are canceled, they get rude messages and people being insanely mean.
I think it’s fine to reply for an accepted or suggested trade, but if you cancel maybe instead of the message box we should just have a drop down list with a few basic options that say things like-
🔘no thank you
🔘this is not fair to me, sorry
🔘I’m not interested in that, but thank you anyway
Just basic stuff that’s not opening the doors for people to be mean and unnecessarily rude and gross to other players.
reposting my suggestion since the thread is moving quickly and new people may want to see it <3
They have this for COPPA's, I would love this for regular players as well. I hate responding with messages, as I get SO anxious. x.x I would benefit from this!!

Possibly an introduction of tone tags (things like /nm or /not mad) in CS might be useful to help preventing unintentional aggressive tones. This could come in the form like emojis where you can select from a list to add in messages. Someone also mentioned a while back these other options in trading that include "not what I'm looking for" or "not fair to me" instead of just "cancelled trade". Edited to see it was from ravens-folklore mentioned just above!
As a fellow autist- tone tags are a life saver and are really good in general to use online. Conveying feelings over text when you're autistic is really difficult and because I have been unmasked for about a year now I noticed people are more likely to take how I word things as me being angry / bitter sometimes. My best way I found to combat that is tone tags or asking someone else to proofread something I said to make sure it doesn't sound mean c:

Agree. It's great that some of the mods are passionate about the site and interacting with us in this thread but the silence from Tess over the past year of complaints about inflation and the site's decline has been telling.
I just want to put out there, there could be personal reasons to this. the lack of appearances could be beyond their control even. not saying this is what is happening but its just best to consider all options. I want to say give grace to those around you

Honestly I think understanding rarity/value/demand is way too complicated for new users which does not help the ninja trading issue.
I'm with everyone that said 'bring back the rares list'. It was simple. It was easy to understand. It helped me understand pet value in the first place based on something more concrete than just 'a lot of people like it'.
Now the issue is there's just TOO MANY THREADS for new users to be expected to read up on. Understanding the old rares list, understanding demand, understanding C$ value, etc.
There's just not one cohesive place for new users where this stuff can be broken down into. It's an overwhelming amount of information in a community that overinflated value on specific because the structure, ie the rares list, got discontinued.
Like yeah, zodiac dogs and warriors cats always had an extra demand/value but it wasn't NEARLY this bad.
And, I think we should have more than just December 18th to boost the economy of pet trading. Especially if CS wants to keep the dead accounts, and I understand why they do and support that, but it doesn't help the issue with too many older pets just forever being locked out of the trading economy because the players quit. And December 18th does NOT do enough damage control, and also inflates the issue more every year with the special release pet.

is Nick really the only coder? I wonder if there ever has been a suggestion to have staff coders (volunteers?).

On Discord I use emojis to help me out in expressing tones but they are specific ones I pay for nitro just to use all around. These emojis aren't as thorough for me at least to use to express but tone tags will straight up be able to define the tone and I think could be really beneficial as well for younger players to learn.

Also this would be SO much better than getting a cancelled trade with no comment

kudos to Lacuna.
very much needed reassurance. i hope ideas presented here get taken into though within the staff team, as chicken smoothie needs some change every now and then. i like how its an old-school type of website, but changes every now and then wouldnt be so bad, right?
also, another coder is a nice thought, just incase any staff do read my message. Nick is great, of course, but brother could easily get burned out from coding this website alone. not speaking of, since this website is from the late 2000s, some code is probably as delicate as eggshells. just saying in general, another coder/archivist would be a nice addition.
also, if any of you need a helping hand on creating a document, just hit me up and ill be happy to help. going to shift away from this thread for now aha
