I feel like a common denominator with CS issues is lack of communication between staff/admins and user base :/ if we were kept in the loop it’d be so much easier to trust and not panic in situations like this. I understand they can’t do a full announcement everytime there’s a scam but something for big stuff would be so appreciated.
To stay on topic tho! I think some conversation about this is important, from what I think it’s related to animal jam and their old breaches? Even without that tho y’all keep your accounts safe with changing passwords and stuff.

i heard even more people got hacked today, this site really needs more security, it makes no sense how it's this easy for a single person to hack multiple accounts in one day. as stated before, full support. this is ridiculous and it's making many people choose to quit this game instead of keep playing. i genuinely love CS, and want to keep playing it. i don't want to see this game die, i really don't. i hope that the admins see the issues at hand and work on them instead of pushing them under the rug and not letting any of us know what is really even going on.

I've just come back from a break and I can't find anything anywhere about what happened. Did the site get hacked? I've been seeing return trades?? What's going on? Should I stop trading?

I would suggest against trading for the time being, SOMETHING is going on with the security of the site and people are getting hacked, which is resulting in a lot of reversed trades. For the meantime until the issue resolves I suggest sticking away from trading people that you do not know and making sure that your account is as secure as it possibly can be

PMed you! Hopefully I can catch ya up. But like the above user said, please refrain from trading until security is added.

Seconding this! I personally set all my trade groups so that they cannot be offered on [if someone can check that'd be great, dm me!] just in case. Also, I recently changed emails for my CS account, and I changed my password too. I suggest everyone do the same, whether you trade or not!

full support !! After seeing what ONE hacker can do the whole community - well frankly it blew the whole website up. I was fortunately not affected by the recent trade reversals but if a security measure is not implemented, I know it won’t stay that way for long (especially since I’m very active in the trading part of cs) I love cs and it’s always been a very nogalic game for me but better security needs to be put in place if the community is going to keep running normally.

I’d personally much rather add a few seconds to the login process than be hacked, I hope others feel the same.

just wanna quote this real quick to help some people out, it’s from one of the earlier pages

Also, don't refer to things like birth year (such as word04), as these are going to be among the first numbers computers guess when trying to take passwords. If your password is over 7 characters, uses letters, numbers, and special characters, and does not contain words or meaningful number/letter sequences (abc, xyz, qwerty, 123, 2004, etc), you are going to be WAY safer. This is why a lot of sites require those things as a bare minimum, and say to not use things like names, birthdays, the site name etc in the password.)

It's tedious. But if anyone is feeling paranoid, the only thing I can recommend is to close all of your trade groups for now.

    Full support <3

Edit:: Hey computer users. There are password protectors such as Lastpass. Even with the free version, you can add ur CS account, and anything else you want. (I used the for my Animal jam account and it saved me MANY a time.) You can set it up to auto change ur password every 90min to every 10days.
Everything is protected by a master password to get into ur LastPass acc, and you can see what passwords it changed it to in that account. It also auto fills the passwords so even if it changes it, it remembers it so logging in isn't an issue. And I guarantee this is much harder to hack into than websites. It's a downloaded program on ur computer, so it makes it a bit harder.
I use it on my CS account, animal jam, and my bank. Never had an issue.

You don't have to use this program, but in general password protectors are a must now a days.
