i'd like to come back and say while i supported it being a toggleable feature, i've changed my mind. i think URs should be counted as seperate releases from regular pets now like store pets are. it's not fair to players who spent all year getting every normal release that their collection will never be truly considered "complete" because of URs. and if they're removed from the counting, it wouldn't really change much for the players that collect them too, right? after all, people collect store pets despite them not counting towards a full year's collection at all

This is sort of where I am at this point - I personally don't consider them part of a "complete" collection, as much as cute stuff to have, but I really think it should be a player's choice as to which of the three types of collections (without UR and store pets/UR but no store pets/all pets released) they want to receive the congratulations banner for.
I feel that this is a change that harms absolutely no one, but has the potential to be very helpful. It might also help with the inflation issue we've been experiencing, since players who only want the URs because they want the congratulations banner (not because they consider them a part of a complete collection) will feel the need to spend obscene amounts on that one pet.

i support removing urs though.
Coming back after thinking about this reply and... I think I'm leaning more on no support. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to collect certain pets (URs, higher value lists, certain species or line edits etc) but then it's by definition not a full collection - and there's nothing wrong with that! A full collection isn't some great ultimate goal everyone on the site should strive towards, just collect what you like on your own terms :]

You can still collect what you like on your own terms with toggleable features. Or to remove URs all together would just allow people to look at the archive and tell what pets they're missing without having to click on every single year because URs are harder to get than store pets (which arent considered a part of the collection, though i would love a feature to toggle them on).
It's not like the "You Collected Every Pet from _____" message gives you an achievement, or an award, or a gift, or anything. Overall it means nothing, it's just a way to track your collection. With URs counted towards the collection, it just makes things hard to track, since 99% of people aren't going to have all of them.

I think they should add more specific toggles (collected all pets from x artist, collected all christmas items) yes! This I would support! But the "ultimate" FULL full collection should still include URs imo

If other toggles are added for easier tracking, I would agree. Though in that case, it should include store pets too.
