I initially voted not to sell CS because that's what my kneejerk reaction was. Originally the call to sell was to get attention.
But you know what? I changed it.
Tess is not around. She hasn't been around for years and shown a very clear disinterest in this site. That's not a bad thing, mind you. On the contrary it's very normal. Many mods have come and gone and even come back again over the years so it's not surprising that even Tess feels the same way. That life has gotten too busy or whatever.
There's just so many things that can't be done without her permission. It's why we've been stuck this way for years.
Changing the color of the VC color? How many years did that take? Even the simplest of suggestions needs to be greenlit by Tess because it's still her site. It's very very much time to pass the torch. Give it to someone who CAN devote time and energy to care, develop and maintain the website.
Like I said before, I thought that's what was happening when Admin Assistants became a thing. That there was going to be less of a bottleneck for site changes/updates and multiple owners could make changes to the site. But it hasn't. It's time to let this site go. Give it to Simon or Sorren or whoever is willing to DO SOMETHING that betters and improves the site. Or at least comment on the hundreds of site suggestions listed here why something will or won't work.
The mid month updates are great. The staff being more active in the community is great. Compiling all the rules in one place is something that's been sorely needed but anyone can do that, can't they?
These are all very good steps in the right direction, but it's not the biggest step to me and I really don't want to lose sight of that.
To settle on, "Well, this is all that we're getting because it's better than nothing."
Going back to the
trading issues as an example of an issue that has only gotten bigger as time goes by because it's not fixed or addressed. This isn't something the current staff can help with. There's so many topics in this sub board that just can't be dealt with by a mod. Not even a "yes that could work" or "No we won't be adding that".
