this. ^^
im hoping the other workers are atleast giving him some assistance. im sure this is very stressful on him since he is the one and only coder for our website.

Sadly I agree. But making a fuss gets results, and hopefully in the future they'll consider being more open about what's going on before everyone has to start fires to make the point. I really hope the suggestion about password changes sending an email gets put into play, personally, it's a bit terrifying that it doesn't tell you.

I am going to agree with this
No offense but cs has a even worse security system than wildworks does with animal jam
As a player of both aj and cs I will compare the issues
Aj has a pretty bad security system when it comes down to hackings and their data breach in 2020. But wildworks actually tries to fix the issue
But cs just sits on the issue and acts like it never happened from what I've read on here
Aj might have bad security but wildworks has put/added good features to keep aj accounts safe such as disable/enabling your account and 2 step verification which cs should add if we're taking into account with people being hacked. It will add an extra wall of protection to accounts
If an admin sees this post and gets mad over what I'm saying then go ahead and ban me. I'm caring less about this site due to its horrible security and the recent hackings and reverse trades. I'm not trying to piss anyone off with this post but if you wanna be mad at it then go ahead. I've seen that a few admins have read things on this thread so yeah if I get banned for this post then let it be cause I'm not staying on a game with staff who don't give a crap about issues
I might quit cs for another games such as animal jam and furvilla. The decision hasn't been made yet. But if the admins sit on the issues and not fix them then bye. Don't expect me to come back lol
And the reason why I compared aj to cs is cause both games have issues with security. Cs as of recent. It's the only comparison I can come up with but I tried and I hope you all can understand. Thank you for reading this and have a good day/night!.

I definitely do support getting more coders / staff with a focus on securing folks who are RESPONSIVE to players' feedback and who actually care about what players have to say and how events effect the players. It feels very much like we're being ignored, shut down, patronized, and generally told that we're being brats for asking in increasingly desperate ways for basic communication and respect. Things needs to change, whether it's by adding new staff to the team there already is, or the site changing hands. Otherwise, the player base feels destined to collapse.
I am however thrilled to hear (even if it is through this thread alone and NOT through an official announcement, which could have prevented a LOT of panic and confusion...) that there are new security features in the works. Thank you, Nick.

I want to clarify that this thread or any other didn't result in working on increased security measures. That was already happening, but a full implementation and notification has not been reached yet. I will say that many things happen behind the scenes that users are not aware of, and security gets upped because part of the power of security updates is that regular people/users do not know they've happened or what they are, as details would potentially compromise that security. CS's security is not compromised; people are using other site's compromised security to prey on users who do not follow best practice of having unique passwords. We cannot force people to choose good passwords, we can only suggest it.
When a lot of people post very quickly and then get a reply, it can seem like you had to scream to be heard, when in fact users will always outnumber staff and it does take time to work on things, decide a best course of action, and follow through. Otherwise, you will get bad or conflicting information. Also, just a note that hiring more regular staff does nothing to help site security or implement site suggestions, as that is not what moderators handle. Moderators are already doing their jobs to the best of their ability, but when you knowingly make rulebreaking posts (like when these threads go off the rails despite even other users pointing out that rules are being broken) it does make their jobs harder.

In the meantime, all it takes to keep your account secure is to have a unique good password for your CS account that you don't also use on other websites. The issues have been due to leaked passwords from sites
like NeoPets being re-used here.
Respectfully and with no intention of starting a fight, I completely disagree that "all it takes" to keep an account secure is to have a good password, as that has been proven wrong many times on many sites. Also, this game allows players so young they're literally not legally allowed to speak in forums; you cannot expect advanced password creation from 10 year olds.
Again, not saying this to start a fight or be disrespectful, just disagreeing.
Very true. I’ve had accounts with the most hot garbage passwords be perfectly fine, but then have my accounts with actual hard to guess passwords have been compromised.
Regardless, I appreciate that we will see something be done about this.
Hello, I'm Miss_Believer, but you can call me Miss if you want! I love hanging out with my friends and my pets!! I love getting trades, so feel free to send one! I'm trying to get a full pet and item collection, so any trades or gifts help, and I'm always in need of C$!!! Thank you to Daevyr for helping me get my previous dreamie!! My current dreamies are shown below. I would like them because the first one looks like my cat, Jojo!
Lights On (working this evening, responding to all messages after Nov. 1st! Happy Halloween 🎃 👻 )!!!

Any password can be compromised; it's not about the complexity of the password necessarily, but its uniqueness. If you used your hard to guess password in two places and one of them experienced a data breach, that password is useless forever.

I feel like it's clear we meant coders when we say staff. it's been brought up SO many times that we need more coders, especially on this thread. It's shortsighted to assume that just any staff position is what we were asking for, when we've all been pretty specific. [/gen]
If anything we need more capable admins/admin assistants as well. And if things were truly being worked on, then WHY not make an announcement about that instead of remaining quiet up until now?
It still makes no sense how this can happen. There wasn't even an apology from any staff so far along the lines of "We are very sorry that we can't disclose information, but rest assured that we are working on things and trying our best."
