Reviving this because I totally agree. I have absolutely accidentally thrown a pet in my doubles folder thinking I had two of them, and then later on realise it was a different outcome. And needing to have the archive open and constantly referring to it and trying to distinguish very small variations in colour, or slight design differences is possible for me, but as noted in this thread, at least in some instances not for colourblind or otherwise visually impaired folks. And either way it is not very practical lol

I'd like to agree and add on to this: I have the same pets throughout multiple different groups: Sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. I loose track easily from this.
I would especially like it if I could go into the archive and not just see: You own this pet, but perhaps a number.

Ie: You currently own 2 of this pet.
Of course, this can be it's own Archives. Such as, we have a full site archive, a wishlist archive and then the new 'owned archive' or 'number archive'. I would use it quite often, especially with new litters and telling pets apart on older litters! I just ran into a handful of pets with multiple of the same ones because I couldn't tell if they were the same pet or different pets.

This is SUCH a good idea. I think that should be its own separate suggestion though. it might already be?

Support! I think this would make the game even more inclusive, I can see this being a huge aid to colorblind folk! I really really struggle to see the difference in shades like the example shown as well- I can't see how this would be anything but useful!

Here to support this! CS is severely lacking in accessibility features and is unfortunately wildly inaccessible in several ways. I would love for more stuff like this to be implemented.

Support! This would be useful for me too even with my 20/20 vision because I don’t always pay attention to the minute details. The litter examples people gave took me some time to distinguish. I remember PFQ required all posts and bios to be colorblind friendly, even though just because one site does it doesn’t mean another should. I think there’s a variety of other reasons to implement it too, like how a screen is obscured on a sunny day or colors seem the same on a low brightness setting. Maybe there would also be another way to implement this like by using symbols or something, if the text label is rejected.

HEAVY support. I get bad eye strain trying to see if I have duplicates of something and it seems to be happening more than ever now. I was sorting through the last 6 months of unsorted monthly pets today and ran into several cases of this.

While the designs are often amazing, the lack of immediately-noticeable visual distinction among littermates at times makes it virtually impossible to see at a glance if I have two of an outcome. I've had to re-sort these guys several times, for example:




If this design trend is gonna continue, something at least designating if we have duplicates would help.

This would be a great idea! I don't personally have any colourblindness, but I often have to look very carefully when the littermates look very similar to one another, just to make sure I don't trade away things I don't have duplicates of. Labelling them would be very helpful.
