the roleplay forums have been dying for SO long now and i hate it.
back in 2016 when i joined they were extremely active, now, it's hard
for something to last more then a couple of days.
provided, i am in two group roleplays that have been moving pretty well,
but i've kinda chalked that up to quarantine and the summer. could be w
rong, but man, it's REAL hard. i won't have as much time when school st
arts however i ADORE writing so i always try and keep myself in some role
play or 1x1 because we all need a break!

as someone who has spent many years on this site loving, cherishing, and actively enjoying it, i’m at a point where i’m considering quitting because i don’t feel the people who run this site feel the same way i do. i’ve worked hard for many things on this site, and i feel ready to completely trade it away and move on. i don’t have the energy to bump my threads, get involved, answer my trades, sort stuff anymore. because that’s all there is to do. there’s nothing new, no sign that change is coming, that care is there. it’s not just me who feels like this, clearly.

The rarity list was supposed to control that, however it fell out of popularity and was discontinued for many rather alarming reasons, one being that it hadn't been updated in a while. Many people, including me, being a new and still rather clueless player, have supported the idea of a rarity only list that doesn't take into account demand, because demand messes rarity up in a lot of ways and moves way too fast to be accurately calculated for all the rare pets on the site. This list would probably come along with the update to CS wanted in this thread. The list would tell you what swaps for what and nothing more, leaving demand up to the players. Either that or two separate lists, one for rarity and the other for demand.

Yeah, I have some trouble with rarity and demand. I mean, we have some 2008 pets that are worth less than a 2009 pet? Demand and rarity can get confusing. Two lists for demand and rarity would be much appreciated, and can help the newer players like you and me from being stumped.

Even as an older player, I still don't understand demand and such, I had people come to my PM's going like, "You look like you know what you're doing because you have so many of these rare pets." And I'm here like-
I only got gifted, got a lucky pound catch or got it for my art...

We really need to have something that is a bit more clear and less confusing when it comes to them kind of things, only way I can trade is working with the rarity, I don't even understand the way the year rarity works overall I'm bad with maths and numbers

I wholeheartedly agree with this idea. The whole rarity/demand thing is too confusing. There should be two separate lists.

Adding on to what I said before, these lists would be the only lists made. No member-made lists or lists based on other properties, these would be the only ones in existence. That way there is no confusing systems or jut general confusion.
There could also be the 2-1 rule things too (explaining what the 2-1 rule is, how it works, listing the transforms, etc.), though from what I understand, its probably been done before.

I first saw the name and disagreed but as I read the post and some of the replies I agree but I don't think they should sell since it means a lot to both of them but they definitely need to hire more people the site is dying I'm a newer member (joined last year in August) so I haven't even been here a year and I've thought about quitting Because there's no updates and it's the same thing there's no new things yes there's the forum games but I think we need things to be more engaging with the actual site I've introduced this site to 5 people since I've joined and only 1 person has stuck around and been interested enough to stay everyone else said after a while it got boring and repetitive and it doesn't help how hard it is for some newbies to get started and get good enough pets to trade and the amount of people I've seen send my friends (and me when I first started) HIGHLY unfair trades saying it's fair because "newbies don't know better so it's easier to get things from them" is bad we need things that make this site more engaging to the new people and the old people and things that would make this site easier to use like the different tiers of WL and a lot of other things I've seen in the suggestions would improve the site so much more

i really dont agree ive been here almost 10 years and its always gaining new members yearly everyone is busy with life yes but tess and nick didnt open this site years ago to just sell it on, they work hard monthly with other staff and artists to get new pets out for everyone to keep it going i dont personally believe they need to sling out posts and updates all the time theirs plenty of active places on the forums daily so the way i see it this sites still kicking very well and tess, nick and its staff make as many good changes to it as they can while still upstanding the lovely site for all players to enjoy their time on collecting, drawing, roleplaying and just making friends in general
if they knew they didnt have the time i think they'd of put CS under the bus a long time ago but tess and nick as well as its staff are still going strong behind the scenes with this amazing site and i thank them for still keeping it up and not moving it on for someone else, not every site gets updated at a constant rate and i really think their would be to much to keep up with if they threw CS updates out left right and center just to please a few people
it gets its monthly adopts,events etc and they do from time to time hire new staff so i think their doing very well and should not sell CS on to someone else

its sad to see many dont believe staff or others care enough, if you think of it if they didnt care why would they sit here making us more adopts monthly? why would they dedicate their spare time to this website to check our tickets and keep us safe?
i believe in my opinion some people just want to much given from this site and if its not given that way they want it selling/shutting down or they quit
we all have our different views on CS though but thats my view

honestly, when i saw the title i was somewhat outraged by the notion that cs should be sold. after all, it was tess' passion project and she's stated how she loves it so. however, after reading through the first post i can say that it is concise and holds many valid points. i have been on cs for five years now, and much of it has been the same. my first two or three years on here were filled with fun and excitement as i discovered everything that the site holds. this is where i discovered role-playing, i adored the forum games, and had great interactions with other users. i do agree that the site has begun to die as it is quite repetitive. there really isn't much to do once you have discovered all the forums and tried everything out. for a month you wait for pixels to grow, the role-playing and forum games sections have slowed exponentially, and many users have simply dropped off of the cs ride. there are improvements that can be made, but none are addressed by any admins, or the staff overall. i go on hiatuses every few months because i am bored with the site. it would be nice to have things revamped a little. bugs to be fixed and suggestions to be integrated, for there to be announcements and let us, the regular players, in on the loop of what's going on behind the scenes, at least just a little bit.

that being said, i don't think the site should be sold. it can be easy to sell something of for a profit only for it to crash and burn with a new head figure. i believe that there should be more coders to help out with the load that nick has to deal with on his own. maybe some more staff to take the time out of their days to help guide the site a little more. there are things that can be done to help bring this site back to what it once was. i understand how busy life can be, so maybe it will be best to bring more people onto the staff team, new coders especially. i don't want this site sold or shut down because more things can just go wrong, but i do agree that the site could use some tlc.
