Alright but how are new players supposed to get old pets without being “greedy”

They can set reminders/alarms for when the pound is open, but the best way is to keep checking the free pet forums for quitting members or people just wanting to clear out their groups. At least that's what I've been doing.

One of my biggest problems are the pet hoarders that won't trade said hoard pets, ESPECIALLY for pets that are very old or very hard to come by on any account. (I once saw someone who had pages among pages of just the zodiac dogs!) No one needs pages of a single pet or liter that's hard to come by. I get that it might be you favorite pet, but come on!

Another pet peeve I have is that there's no way to reorder pets in groups. I can understand if you want to sort by date, but if different litters are the same date, but out of order, I'd like to reorganize them!

Trading feels impossible, I appreciate the effort for the events but it's mainly what keeps me coming on to play, and Monthlies I don't even watch them grow like I used to. I remember back in 2013 I loved watching them grow I checked every day, now I check at the end of the month.... Sometimes.

What you said about watching them grow...I feel this so hard. I used to watch my Butterfly Wolves especially, keeping on top if I missed an outcome right away and all that. Now? I just wait until the end and put what I missed on my wishlist. :?

I don't agree with any of the suggestion that would set limits on players themselves. The solution is not to force people to play a certain way or police a certain playstyle. What we need is a change to how the site functions, such as the pound and rereleases. Yes, there are certain issues that stem from the community itself, but imposing limitations just seem unfair to me.

I don't mean EVERY DAY log ins because people do have lives and are busy but something to try and achieve. Maybe even 1C$ every few days or weeks to help battle the currency situation and give those with no income a chance to get C$

Unfortunately i feel as though something like that would further diminish the value of C$ and make it even harder for most players, apart from the ones with tens of thousands of C$ to throw around.

Agreed, while this is a nice idea, it would only further aggravate C$ inflation. This idea could still be implemented with something else, like items or pets or even introducing a new currency that can't be bought with real money. The currency would also help combat inflation as players may trade C$ for this currency with other players, helping to redistribute the wealth. And as this is a free currency, there would always be a more limited amount of it, helping to lessen any potential inflation. Furthermore, a free currency could also be used as a reward for minigames and have exclusive items in the shop, further helping to keep players interested in playing C$

i actually love the idea of a new and freeish currency! for playing minigames or just logging in ! yes!

Just telling people they should be grateful for monthlies and not be "greedy striving for rares" and not have pet collection goals on the pet collection website is silly. People are not quitting because other players have dreamies and collection goals. :?

Anyways. as always my suggestion is more re releases.

I agree. This is better way to address the inflation issue without making the game more restrictive for people who like to collect certain pets. There's also a lot of ramifications for a system that enforces a limit on pet collection, such as what to do with existing players with their own hoards.

Really glad people are bringing up hoarding being an issue tbh. I thought I was just being sensitive lol. But man, as someone who hasn't been on the site for as long as most other users have, it's really frustrating seeing people hoard tens or sometimes literal hundreds of ONE older or uncommon + pet and making them ridiculously hard to trade for, or just not trading them at all. If people are willing to trade off pets they have plenty multiples of without issue, I don't see a problem with it, but unfortunately it seems like that isn't the case with most hoarders.

This is why my hordes are difficult but not impossible to trade for!! It kills things!!

I feel this sting big time. Like store pet hoards for a pet you know will never come back but it's just... Impossible to trade for even when you see 50 but they're not for trade. It really does hurt in a weird way just seeing pets you want literally unobtainable in a group of 50 or more of them.

^^ completely agree with this

admins cannot change how players choose to trade or how they play and they shouldn't have to!

Sometimes you need multiple high rare pets to trade for others ( like a single older store pet)- i personally dont think telling other people how to play the game is the right way to go imo. Maybe giving people more opportunities to get rares/very rares seems like a better option.

yeah, limiting the amount of pets somebody can have in any sense seems like the wrong move. i don't have anything against hoards really, if you're willing to put in the time and effort to build up a collection then you deserve it honestly. if you can manage to get more and more rares, who am i to tell you you're doing it wrong?

that being said, it can be pretty intimidating to players who don't have those opportunities.

What I do every few months I go through all my groups and see if there’s anything I no longer want, then it goes in the trade pile
